I was nominated by Sammy for the Liebster Award!
1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Japan, no doubt about it. I’ve always been interested in the country as well as they’re small – but growing – punk seen there. I would enjoy spending time with a friend who live in Japan and spending quiet time at the temples of the country.
2. If you play video games, which one(s) are your favorite(s)?
I play Sonic, does that count? I’ve never really been that much into video games. I do love the original Sonic games as well as the original Mario. I do play games like Cooking Mama and Diner Dash.
3. If you could be in the place of any video game character, who would it be? Why?
Well Sonic because he kicks ass..and in the end he saves little animals. But when I think about it Cooking Mama too because she cooks all the time. haha.
4. What is one of your favorite hobbies and how long have you kept at it?
So many hobbies! I love photography and I picked up the hobby in 2005. In 2008 I got my hands on my first 35MM SLR and still use it. I’ve also been sewing since I was about 10 years old. It’s kind of a family thing really.
5. Have you ever met any of your online friends?
Yes. If you’re going to meet at online friend ALWAYS do it in a public place just in case they turn out to be weird or psycho. None of my friends have turned out to be either of those, thank god!
6. What year did you start your blog? Or did you have another blog previous to the one you have currently?
I started a blog (xAngelComplexX, later Angel-Complex.Org) when I was just starting high school – around 2001. I jumped to another domain when I was in 11 grade and kept it for a couple years. After that I stopped blogging and all website things for a few years. After that needed break I bought Stupid-Eyed.Net (2006) and have had it since that time. I’ve played around with the idea of changing my domain, but after all these years it’s kind of become a part of me.
7. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Hmm…well I do blog a lot about food and I do enjoy blogging about food. I also enjoy doing any blogging where I can add pictures, because I just take too many pictures of things sometimes. When I do go to a show, I do totally love blogging about the show and the people I always end up meeting at the shows.
8. What is the first thing you notice when you step outside on a beautiful day?
I always look at the sky for some reason. I think it’s just a habit that came from thinking nice weather never lasts long around here.
9. What is your favorite season or holiday?
Halloween. And Friday The 13th if that counts. Halloween means movie marathons and it being okay to dress up and walk around. It’s the one time of the year I don’t get dirty looks from people for dressing the way I do.
10. Do you have any fur babies/other pet(s)? If so, what type are they and what are their names?
Kitties, lots of kitties. Lola (solid black kitty), Stinky & Stink (black & white twin kitties), Wednesday (solid black kitty), Kitty (tabby kitty), Booger (Black & white kitten), Figaro (black & white kitten), Ruby (solid black kitten), one kitten has no name yet….and there’s Odie (Lab mix).
11. What are you currently reading? Do you enjoy comic books?
I’m not reading anything right now, which makes me feel bad. I did pick up a book about Amish culture at the recent library book sale, I think I’m going to start reading that. I do enjoy comic books and have a small collection.
So Sunday I was at a flea market that was held at a drive in. Yes, we still have a drive in that’s near. I haven’t been there in years though, but I always have hope that once the weather is nice someone will want to go. There is a movie that opens July 2nd and if they get it I’m totally going to talk someone into going. It costs under $8 per person and you get to watch two movies. That beats over $10 for one movie any day!
The flea market was okay considering it was the first time they had the flea market. But now the bad thing – this weekend they’re doing it two days. Ugh.
I’ll be there both days this weekend but next weekend I won’t be since it is my birthday weekend. I’m sorry, I just want to do whatever I want for a weekend. Though it’s pretty much going to be doing nothing…but still.
The only good thing about doing this flea market is the fact that I have loads of boxes that need gone through so now when I find things worth selling I can price them and take them to the flea market. Last week I went through around 10 boxes and had two boxes of stuff to sell (and two bags of trash and one box of trash). I still have around 30 boxes or so to go through.
Friday night a friend is coming down from Cleveland for a mini early birthday celebration. As long as the weather holds out we’re going to go play miniature golf. They have a mini golf course at the big park and it’s only $1.50 per person per game. The downside is that it’s outside so if it rains or anything you can’t really play. I still don’t know how I’m getting home though, I need to figure that out soon.
Sunday after I got home from the flea market I was told my niece named one of the kittens. Last time she did that the cat ended up being named Cookies…later we just started calling him Kitty. Anyways…meet Figaro.
I was told the reason behind the name is Minnie Mouse has a black and white cat named Figaro. So I guess it makes sense. She’s still not used to her name though.
I’ve been working on these cases for sunglasses (and glasses) for the past couple weeks. They’re not a lot of work, I just went kind of crazy and cut a bunch out. So I’ve been sewing them in batches. I also do the top part of the case by hand so that takes some time to do.
This is the case I made for my new sunglasses – they’re red and heart shaped! I made myself another case…my reasoning is so my sunglasses are not just laying around to get scratched. Haha. Which sounds like it’s a good reason. ^_^
Last night I finished up a few so now I have a total of 10. I’m going to pick through and put a couple in my shop. I just have a bunch of different fabrics, so it’s going to be hard to pick which ones I want to list in the shop and which ones I want to put with my things to take to the flea market and such.
Now to the part some people love to hate…food talk! ^_^
I had been dying for this. Homemade pasta in a garlic cream sauce with roasted tomatoes. After making this I’m seriously considering buying myself a pasta machine for my birthday – it will get loads of use because I love pasta.
It was the first time I roasted tomatoes, they turned out awesome. Most people use cherry tomatoes, but I didn’t want to. I think it was better with a huge chunk of tomato. So good!
Monday night I made soup…I know that sounds crazy because it is starting to feel like summer. I can’t turn down a soup with rice though. ^_^ This was a play on my rice and veggie soup. This time the two main ingredients were rice and mushrooms. I added a few carrots – mainly because I had just bought a bunch of carrots. On top I cut up some roasted red pepper – I think the sweetness went so well with the soup.
Last night was a lazy night. I cut up some carrots, mushrooms, potatoes and onions. I threw them in a baking dish and put it in the oven. I admit, I love potatoes. The sauce I baked these in was a mixture of soy sauce and some water with spices.
I still have some left over so for my late lunch I’m going to add in some lentils.
