Got Me Twisted All Out Inside

New Hair Color

First: New hair color! ^_^ Okay so it’s not a new hair color for me to use, but it’s new considering how long it’s been since I’ve had it this color. I have to say it feels amazing to have this color back. ^_^ Tomorrow I’m going to have the sides shaved and maybe a little length taken off.

Oh and I have to buy a new nose ring. I have a nose ring in but it’s an old one. See I guess it got stuck on my shirt when I took it off…no idea where it went to.

Since the weekend I’ve been sick with a dang cold. It was like just within minutes I was sick. I am feeling better then I had been though. My nose and throat are the two main issues. My nose is just stuffy, my throat hurts.

Yesterday when I went out to get the hair dye and something else I did pick up some lemon green tea bags. So I’ve been having hot tea every day.

Apple Pie Cookies

Saturday I made apple pie cookies. The picture above is an example of what the ones I made look like. The following picture is the two my niece made.

Apple Pie Cookies

Even though I’ve been sick this week I’ve still been hard at work on a few things.

I did finally get something like a closet! Okay so really it’s a bookcase, but at least I have a place to put my clothes. So I started working on that over the weekend. I pretty much have all my clothing in the bookcase, now I just have to finish cleaning where my clothing was. I was also forced to get rid of a lot of clothing because of lack of space – but it was a good thing.

I’ve also been sewing on my Halloween costume. Today I finished the skirt and belt. Tomorrow I’m going to finish my top – which is just adding an additional strap to it. ^_^

And the major thing I’ve been looking forward to for months…MY ETSY SHOP! Right now I don’t really have a lot on there. A few tote bags, earrings, nothing major. I’ve just waiting to get some business going before I fill the shop with more items. If there’s anything you’d like to see in my shop, let me know! ^_^

I do have a side order of a set of navy earrings, patriotic scarf and patriotic tote bag to finish getting together. The Scarf is finished, but the earrings I messed up. I kind of forgot they were in the oven and well…they look dead. Haha. I’m going to do them tomorrow while I’m cutting out the pieces to the tote bag.

And if you want a custom tote bag, it does cost more then the ones I already have finished – because I have to buy the fabric and some cotton is $10/yard. For a custom tote bag I’ll have to charge $25 to $35 (shipping included).

Since I have my bank account all worked out this means I have a paypal – so I’m totally willing to do orders beyond the etsy shop. ^_^ Shipping is just going to cost a lot if you’re outside the US.

Also I should have my photo gallery finished up by the end of the week, so I’ll be posting that link. It’s just a photo gallery of all my concert pictures and so far all the pictures I’ve taken this year.

And You Look Into My Eyes

Well, I know I had a great weekend. Except for Friday.

Friday was spent driving around the county because my brother doesn’t think things through. Which has come to be normal. Ugh.

Saturday though Jason and I went to a benefit a couple of his friends (and one of their girlfriends) was working at. It was fun. ^_^

After the benefit we went to downtown Kent to look at some of the shops. All I can say is I hope we have a chance to go back when I have some money on me so I can grab a couple things for Christmas.

The one shop is called Off The Wagon [LINK]. It’s this great little place that has…a little of everything. I seen a lot of things that would make great Christmas gifts. Not to mention I seen a few things that I wouldn’t mind having.

We had to grab something to drink, so we went to Tree City Coffee [LINK]. They have cases of sweets that all looked so good. But we were just there to get drinks. I got a small black tea – so good.

Then we stopped at this place that only sold alcohol. I’m not a big drinker, but it was just cool to look at all the bottles. That was until I seen pumpkin wine. I’m kind of kicking myself for not getting  a bottle. I want to look around here to see if I can find any.

We then met his friends at one of their homes, then went out for dinner with them. We went to The Winking Lizard Tavern [LINK]. Great food! Though their menu is kind of small if you’re looking for vegetarian (or vegan). I got a roasted veggie wrap and could only eat half.

After dinner we went back to his friends place and played a card game. We were there until about 1:30am or so and we went back to Jason’s.

Today we watched Escape From Planet Earth [LINK]. It was a cute movie, but I wish it was funnier then it was.

Before he brought me home he put some ice cream in a container. We stopped at a fast food place and for two large root beers, no ice & half food. Then we put the ice cream in our cups and have root beer floats! ^_^ It was the cutest thing ever.

Tonight I worked a bit on my Halloween costume. I figure tomorrow I’ll be totally finished with the sequins. My goal is to get it totally finished with the costume by the end of the week. Which I should be able to do. It just takes a while to get the sequins done since you’re doing them one at a time. Plus the ones I’m using now I have to sit and pick out of a pile of mixed colors…so that just adds even more time.

This week is going to be a headache for me…I’m pretty sure of it. If all goes well I’ll finally be able to open my Etsy shop mid-week. Well that’s my goal anyways. Right now though I’m just mainly going to have earrings and keychains. I’m not sure what I should put up for sale right off the bat…any ideas?

I was thinking about doing up a few scarves, even some that are two sided.

I have a headache, so I think that means I should lay down.

Sundowner

Sundowner

On the 26th I went to Cleveland to see Sundowner [LINK] with Jason and a few of his friends. When Jason had first mentioned I did take a listen to a song, what can I say I’m a sucker for acoustic music – as long as it’s good acoustic. And the show was at a venue I had never been to – Now That’s Class [LINK].

I had an awesome time at the song, even though I really only knew one song by heart. As usual I took a load of pictures so I had to share a few. I have the rest uploaded at my photo gallery, which is still under construction.

Yep, photo gallery. It will be so much easier to upload pictures on there and keep them up to date then it is the way I have pictures uploaded on here. My only question is what categories should I have? Right now I only have the Concert section up and done. I was considering making the main categories: Concerts, Nature, City, Countryside, Animals. There will be subcategories within those.

Aside from working quietly on the photo gallery I’ve also been busting my ass on my Halloween costume. Oh yeah! And I can finally share what I’m going to be. I’m going to be a belly dancer! ^_^ The idea sounded fun so I figured why not. I’ve made everything for my costume as well. Right now I’m in the middle of doing all the beading on the top. The colors are two shades of green and then blue. Right now I’m adding the blue beads to the top, then I have some clear ones I’m going to add on…and last of all is finishing/fixing the sequin work on the top. The other headache is the belt. On accident I put the hooks too close tot he edge so it doesn’t fit as it should.

I also have an apron I’ve been working on. The color combo is black, white & hot pink. It’s super cute and I think the person I’m making it for is going to love it. I have leftover fabric from the apron so I’m going to either make something like a tote bag or matching pot holders to go along with it all. I’m just not sure. I do have to re-cut one piece of the apron, but it won’t take that much fabric at all to re-cut what I messed up. I just didn’t measure the length right, but considering where I was cutting the fabric I’m surprised I wasn’t further off then I was.

I still have the goal of at least having an Etsy shop open by the end of the month. I haven’t given up on that yet, it’s just taking me a while to do it because I want to make sure the pictures for it are all great and everything runs smoothly with it. I also want to have a few envelopes on hand before I start selling so I don’t have to run out to stores to try to hunt them down.

This weekend started off with watching Jason and his friends play Magic [LINK]. People think I’m telling a lie when I say I like watching people play (even video games). I’ve always been a people watcher though.

After the gathering was over we cuddled and he had me watch the first episode of Continuum [LINK]. Yeah, it was new to me since I don’t really watch any channel side from Food Network [LINK] anymore. But it was a good show, I’m just not really into shows with that kind of storyline I guess.

Sunday afternoon we watched ABC’s Of Death [LINK]. Loved it! It was the first time we both had seen it. I really can’t wait for 2 to come out…but that’s not until next year! =_=

We went out for a late lunch after, then he brought me home. I’m always bummed when I know it’s time for me to come home, but it just makes me excited to see him when I see him the next time. I do think it’s good that we don’t see each other every day. It makes the time we’re together even more special.

Taking A Risk For The First Time

Listening To: Sweet Nothings by Truth Be Told

Thursday was loads of fun! Seriously, it was the best thing I’ve had out in a long time. Who knew dressing up like pirates and doing a basic pub (well bar) crawl could be as much fun as it was!

I did tell Jason before it all started that the idea of the whole night took me so far outside of my comfort zone it wasn’t even funny. But I’m glad he took me out of my comfort zone.

When it comes down to it every time he pushes me outside of my comfort zone I’m glad he does.

Friday was just as much fun…well for me it was.

Friday was just spent cuddling together. ^_^

All of last week though I was super boring while I was finishing up the last bits of my pirate costume. My computer was on the whole time so I could catch up on Supernatural episodes. I’ve finally made it to season 8, but the video I have for episode 5 won’t play on my computer for some reason!!! =_= Which means…I don’t know. It just bums me out.

Though the good thing is I enjoyed season 7 a lot more then I did season 6. Season 6 just seemed like it was the “okay we have to do this” season.

I do know I won’t be able to catch up totally by the time the new season starts, which is going to suck for me because I was planning on starting to watch it again.

Since I guess I’ve run out of Supernatural episodes to watch I’m going to hopefully watch The Raven at some point this week. I’ve had it for so long but I just haven’t felt like watching it.

So this week I’m back to costume working. This time it’s for my Halloween costume. I’m not going to say what I’m going to be until I finish the costume. I did have to sit and rework a skirt pattern for this costume due to the layers and such. Ugh. It was a headache. Good thing is the top of the costume I have my mom willing to help me at least do the major parts to do and I’ll have to do all the small pieces, which are the pieces that will take the longest – that’s why I’m starting on it this week.

I won’t totally be working on it nonstop though because I will be fitting in time to work on an apron a friend ordered from me. I have to have it mailed by the first week of November – which I should have no problem with doing it. I am kind of excited to do the fabric shopping for it.

I know Cherry Delights has been a very slow process when it comes to being able to do online ordering and such, but we’re almost there! ^_^ It’s been a lot of hard work and by the end of October – or sooner – it will all be ready! I re-took pictures of some of the first items that will be offered too – mainly earrings, hair ties and custom purses. I sat working on the logo last night and I know a lot of people won’t like it, but I freaking love it.

Talking about logo, I changed the layout! I’m sure it will be a 50/50 shot of people like it due to the fact that there’s a graphic of myself on the header. I think it’s more of me then the last layout was. I know a lot of people have a “tag line” for their blogs…I’ve been trying to think of one but I just can’t think of one that really fits me or my blog.

Tonight seems like a hot tea and hand sewing kind of night. ^_^

The weather has turned to fall and I’m not ready for it. I won’t have my quilt on my bed so I’m a little cold at night. I plan to get it on my bed tomorrow though.

I guess the only good thing about fall is the fact that it’s okay to lay in bed, watch TV (or movies) and work on little things. ^_^ During the summer if you say that’s how you’re spending a night people think you’re odd, but during cold nights it’s perfectly fine.

Today I did cut out like 100 bows to sew…I’m pretty sure it’s not 100 but it looks like it when they’re all laying in pieces. I only have six finished.

Engines stop running, but I have no fear

Last week as…just not a good week. Females issues always just makes me so depressed. Even with that though I was able to do a few projects.

Bow Belt

I made myself this super cute vintage inspired bow belt. I have a black skirt I want to wear it with. And since I made one and it’s not a lot of work at all I’m going to add them to the things I’m making/selling, at the price of $7. I love it.

Dress

I also made myself a new dress. I used a basic tank dress pattern I made. I found a great black and red fabric too.

Baby Dragon

I also made my first plushie! I made it for Jason. Considering it was my first plushie I think it turned out cute. The hardest part for me was putting the eyes on it.

Right now I’m advertising Halloween costume orders. I know it’s a little early, but it takes a while to make costumes. Mainly though I just really want to do skirts, but I’m willing to do other pieces of costumes. Plus it will give me a little money, I found a wig at a Halloween shop that I really want.

When it comes to Halloween though, I finally figured out what I want to be! I’m going to be a sailor! My plan to is make a two piece costume. A skirt and a crop top – I’m not sure if I want the top to tie in front or not. The skirt is going to be a pleated skirt. The main color is going to be blue, but I think I’m going to put white trim on the hem of the skirt. I already found a pattern to make the hat too.

Thursday is Talk Like A Pirate Day. Which means Jason will be coming to pick me up after he gets off work…yes we’re going out and dressing up like pirates.

This just means this week I will be working on finishing up everything I need. And trying the costume on at least once.

The two major things I really need to finish are my hat and my half cloak. The hat shouldn’t be a problem once I really sit down and look at it. The cloak on the other hand is going to take more time because I’m going to tea stain the fabric. I can’t sew it until I do that, but I can at least cut it out. I have to leave the fabric in the tea for at least an hour, then I have to rinse it off, dry it and possible put it back in the tea for a little bit. Ugh.

In other news…

Last night Jason came down and picked me up. We spent the night watching movies and just spending time together – which is what I needed. I love the way he holds me.

We watched the sun come up too. Before we knew it, it was 7am. We did fall asleep shortly after we realized what time it was.

Jason and I went to this great little diner for a late lunch. It was kind of a rat pack theme…and they sat us at a Frank Sinatra table. ^_^

After we ate we checked out a Halloween shop. I really need a new wig and I found one I love. They really didn’t have a lot out yet though, so I figure we’re going to be going back before Halloween.

My Heart Was A Bird In A Small Cage

Listening To: The One That Got Away by P!NK

This week has just been myself trying to keep busy. This weekend is more of that kind of thing as well. Just trying to keep my mind from wondering really.

Blueberry Crisp

This week I made a blueberry crisp. I’m not questioning where the nearly 8 cups of blueberries came from because I can use them to make yummy things. Crisps always look kind of gross, but they’re never as gross as they look. I kind of ate more of the crisp them I really should have.

Eggplant Fries

My new addiction, eggplant fries. I’ve had them twice this week and just want more. They’re super easy to make too. Well aside from cutting the eggplant up.

I had some this morning and I have two more eggplants in the fridge to use soon before they go bad.

This week though I honestly think I sat and cut up 50 carrots. The first time I cut carrots it was earlier in the week and I left some out and cut them into carrot sticks, put them in a baggie and put them in the fridge for a snack. Well I took a few with me last night but when I came home there was none left! So this time I left more carrot sticks in the fridge. I think there’s around five baggies of carrots in the freezer! 0_0 I know soon I’ll be talking about having no carrots though. ^_^

Tomorrow I’m going to be cutting up onions to put in the freezer too.

As I said last night I took carrots with me, well I started at the coffee shop and ended up at hookah.

Before going up to hookah though we stopped at Wal-Mart so Randi could get a new phone charger. She also bought some of that hair spray stuff that glows in the dark. The hookah lounge we go to has black lights…need I say more? ^_^

So when we got up there we stood in the parking lot spraying each other with the stuff. It worked too!

The whole night I was texting Jason, as usual, kind of bummed because I knew I wouldn’t get to see him this weekend.

Well I went out in the parking lot to use the final amount of spray out of the can and left my phone on the table. When I got back I realized I missed a phone call and that it was from Jason. I got up and was walking toward the door to go outside so I can call him back. Just as I looked up from my phone to open the door Jason was standing on the other side. ^_^ Best surprise ever! I honestly thought I wouldn’t see him at all.

Even though it wasn’t a lot of time I was able to spend with him it was enough for me. I just loved being able to see him period.

And hearing him call me “baby” as we were saying goodbye…my heart exploded.

So since I knew I wouldn’t see him today (or tomorrow) I started looking up a pattern for something I want to make him. I found one pattern, but after cutting it out and seeing how much of a headache it is, I’m not sure if it will turn out like it’s suppose to. This leaves me looking up a different style of pattern but for the same thing. I know there has to be one out there!

Square Circle Skirt

This is the square circle skirt I made for my niece. I finally finished it earlier this week but haven’t had a chance for her to try it on. When I was showing it to her that it was finished, she took it…I have no idea what she did with it.

Half Circle Cloak

Half Circle Cloak

One of my major projects for the week was this half circle cloak for myself. Since it was the first one I ever made I didn’t make a hood, I just made a big collar on it. ^_^ Which…I’m in love with the collar. I even lined it!

I have the outside fabric for a hooded half circle cloak already picked out. I can’t figure out what color to do the lining in though. I never match the lining to the main fabric – it’s like a little surprise to see a color that doesn’t match, it’s something I enjoy.

And I have fabric picked out to make one for my pirate outfit. I don’t think there’s enough of the fabric to make it hooded though, so it’s just going to be a collared cloak.

Dress

This was another major project for this week. I want a strapless dress but since I’m so small it’s hard to find one that fits like it should. I figured I could take the problem and fix it by making one. I didn’t find a tutorial online at all – well to any that I liked. So after some though I figured I could figure out how to make a strapless dress myself. This orange dress is what I ended up with.

I took the pattern for my corset and then I made a pattern for a pencil skirt. Sewed them together…and bingo! A strapless dress!

This orange dress though I’m never going to wear, it was kind of like a dry run to get everything figured out when it came to making the dress. It helped a lot making this one first though. I know on top I have to leave a bit of extra fabric and not cut it off even with the bottom. I have get to get the hip measurements right, they’re still a little bit off.

The dress I’m hoping will be the final, is out of a heavy bright blue fabric. I think it’s going to look great once it’s finished. I’m going to do something a little odd though when it comes to the dress, I’m going to put snaps up the back instead of a zipper! It shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m doing something a little off. Ha ha! ^_^

Today though while I was finishing up Drawn Together (Season 2) I finished something for Randi. So the only thing I have to finish for her is the apron. Which isn’t a lot of work at all. It’s just really making where the button holes will go. I’m scared to just guess and put them where I think they should go, so I want her to try it on before I do the button holes.

Next week I’m going to hopefully finish this thing I was talking about earlier that I have cut out. I also really need to finish my hat since I don’t have much longer to have my pirate outfit completely done, that also means I need to finish my cloak.

I’m also going to make myself an apron, or I hope to make myself an apron. It’s the style of apron I’m going to make my friend for his girlfriend. I just think making one and sending him pictures will help more then sending him a link to one another person made.

We Can Only Be Ourselves

Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair

Friday night was spent with Jason and his friends at Canfield Fair [LINK]. It was the first time Jason and I have been to the fair and compared to ours, it’s HUGE!

Within maybe twenty minutes of being at the fair, before we found his friends, he had me going down a slide. I know that sounds a little weird so let me explain a little better…

At the fair they have these huge slides called Fun Slides (I think). You walk up stairs and sit on a burlap sack. There’s five slides hooked together. When each slide has a person on it, the man at the top says go. You race each other down the slide.

The only problem is I’m scared of heights.

Even with my fear, he was able to get me up on the slide. And well…it was just so cute that he wanted to do it. In the end, I loved it.

Over all, it was a great night. I may not be the most outgoing person around new people, but I do enjoy meeting new people. It just takes a while for me to warm up to them.

We were at the fair until they were closing stands down for the night.

The rest of the night can be summed up by saying we cuddled to Frank Sinatra songs. And went to bed kind of early for us.

Saturday we ever woke up early – for us.

We stopped at a cafe to get drinks and well me not thinking I didn’t watch (or ask) to see if there was milk in mine. By the time we got back to his place I realized there was. I was feeling so horrible I just wanted to die. After some water and cuddling I felt better though.

Saturday night we were going to meet up with some of his friends for a kind of game night. So we went shopping for some snacks to take. We ended up getting stuff to make mini pizzas. The mini pizzas were his idea, but it was my idea to make the dough from scratch. The toppings were (vegan) cheese, mushrooms, green pepper, banana pepper, onion and tomato.

It was the first time I had ever cooked with anyone, and I enjoyed it so much. Plus it was kind of romantic – in my eyes anyways.

The little game night was a lot of fun too. ^_^

The end of night was spent cuddling in bed and watching Children Of The Corn.

Sunday was a lazy day. Ordered Chinese and watched a badly edited film. Oh and we took a nap too.

I have to say, I’m loving the time we spend together more and more. We don’t have to go anywhere for me to be happy, staying at his place and watching bad movies is enough for me.

This week I had a couple projects I wanted to start which would just stress me out, but due to an issue that started Sunday I’m going to put off those stressful projects until next week. The issue, I’m pretty sure, is stress related. So I’m just going to reduce stress for the week in hopes that will help me out a little.

So this week I only have a few small projects to work on.

First one is finishing the skirt I made for my niece. Last night I did the hem and waistband. Now I just have to iron the waistband and sew it to the skirt. It’s the first project on my list for this week since it’s super simple and easy.

Next project is a half circle cloak for myself. I found this great black and white checkered fabric I’m going to use for the outer fabric, for the lining I’m using a “silky” gray fabric. Last night I sat debating on if I should add a collar to it so it’s not that simple, Well I cut a collar out so I’m going to add it. I was wanting to go as simple as I can with this cloak since it’s the first one I’ve ever made, but honestly while I was thinking about it I realized I don’t like cloaks without a collar. They just look like an oddly made superhero cape. ^_^ I do plan to make myself a half circle cloak with a capelet attached to it. That just sounds…totally like something I would wear all the time. Though I am considering making the capelet lace, but it all depend on what kind of fabric the main fabric is.

I do have Randi’s apron sewn, but I have yet to find buttons for the back part of it. We have a couple button jars I just have to go through them to find the perfect buttons. I can always  grab a couple and let her pick. I’m also going to add a couple lace flowers (or bows) to the waistband.

I have another project for Randi I started on last night, it’s pretty simple and shouldn’t take that long.

Sunday night I talked to a friend who wants me to make an apron for his girlfriend – so cute! I’m excited for the chance to do it. So I got the numbers I needed for it as well as some ideas for fabrics. I can’t buy the fabric though until he pays me for the apron – I paid my cell phone, UGH! – but I think I’m going to look through some fabrics if I get a chance before I get the money so I can take pictures and have him be more part of the project. He said she’s super girlie, but likes that he’s punk, so I was thinking of going with a retro style fabric – when I mentioned that he loved the idea. I just hope the fabric I’m thinking of they still have. I seen this fabric one time and fell in love with it. One good thing is I may not have to buy lace, it just depends on what color lace I’ll need.

Once I get the money I’ll also be able to open a bank account. A friend let me know that the bank I was going to go with doesn’t have fees or anything. Which is great because that’s what I read on their website but someone told me that wasn’t right – great to know from someone who actually uses the bank that it’s true. I just hope they’re quick with sending ATM cards and such so I can then get the paypal set up and work toward doing the store and everything online.

I really want to do a whole different website, but until I start making some money with it I’ll have to just do a subdomain on here. I am going to use the flat rate packages when it comes to shipping so if I have out of the country orders, the shipping rate won’t be sky high. I think the only hard part is going to be dealing with the custom orders.

Right now I’m thinking for the first few months or so I’m only going to do custom orders on things such as bow earrings, hair bows, bracelets and paintings – oh and half cloaks. Then I’ll slowly work into skirts and such.

I am excited to get this off the ground. ^_^ Oh and I did pick a name, well it’s the name I’m using on facebook for it right now: Cherry Delights. More then likely that will change, but I kind of like it because it doesn’t hold me to doing one thing – such at jewelry, or only sewn projects. I can pretty much use that name and do anything I want.

I’m also not going to be using any materials that are made from animals. ^_^ No wool, no silks, no leather – I’m super stoked to offer animal friendly items to people. I’m sure I’ll get a few people who has never come across animal friendly items will buy some things, opening their eyes to the world of it all. ^_^

I don’t have a logo yet though. Which I really want to get a logo done so I can add it to the tags I’ll attach to the items before mailing. I kind of want to base the logo on my tattoo. Maybe I’ll play around with the logo idea this week, doing things like that doesn’t bring me stress at all…it kind of mellows me out.

In other news…

Two words: Hemp Hearts!

Okay, sounds kind of weird if you have no clue what I’m talking about. Well I’m a member of a website where you can get free samples of new items and give feedback so they can change things if they need to. Anyways I got a sample of Hemp Hearts (Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils) last week. Hemp Hearts are raw shelled hemp seeds. I admit, I thought it sounded kind of weird when I first read about them. I do like trying new things though. I read there is 10g of protein in 3tbsp, which gave me all the more reason to try them out.

You can use them on salads…well ANYTHING! I finally opened and tried them last night while I was laying in bed. It was just like eating nuts or something along those lines. They are smaller then a sunflower seed so it wasn’t very easy. In the end though I can’t wait to buy more.

They have such a great nutty flavor to them, which got my baker mind thinking about how great they would be added to cookies. Putting some in a chocolate chip cookie would be so good. I want to get another package before I make stir fry again, they would be such a great little addition.

There’s A Muddy Field Where A Garden Was

Listening To: Right As Rain, Pt 2 by The Lawrence Arms

This is a little blog I wanted to write for a while. I just never had the time, I guess, to do it. Well considering I’ve been having those wonderful hard times sleeping, and I more then likely won’t sleep tonight…it’s a good time to write this.

I know a lot of people who carry bags and always have a few odd things shoved in there, well not odd but completely random items. I had a spoon in my bag for a couple days because I forgot I had shoved it in there. No worries, it was a clean spoon – I took it because I wasn’t sure if I would need it with what I was leaving the house with for breakfast.

I’m pretty open about what I have in my bag, I don’t care if people know.

I carry the normal items like my wallet, a couple packs of gum, some mints, my mp3 player, my camera…

In one of the outside pockets though I carry condoms and spermicide sheets.

For those who have been reading my blog for years, you guys know that I’m not crazy and having sex with everyone I meet. I’ve never been that kind of person and never will be, yet I don’t point fingers at people who do that. Everyone is free to do whatever makes them happy as a person.

So I guess it seems odd for me to carry those items with me.

My friends know I have them and if they need one or both, I am more then happy to give them to whoever it is. It’s the simple message of protecting yourself.

I know in society it’s seem as a bad thing for females to carry condoms, well sorry society it’s not a bad thing. It’s taking responsibility for your actions. It’s not the guys responsibility to always have some kind of protection, and it’s not against the law for a female to go in and buy condoms.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for sex. As long as you’re of age – do it! But do it safely!

I hear all the time about people having babies and the main reason is  the fact that they didn’t have protection and 90% of the time it’s the female saying “He” didn’t have the protection. Well honey, take care of your body too. If you’re too “shy” to buy condoms, buy spermicide.

Spermicide can be bought as a gel or as a sheet. Sheets are easier to fit in your bag. Another good reason for the sheets is there’s no liquid to get all over things if something happens to the bottle. Think along the lines of those breath strips, that’s really what it looks like it’s just bigger. There is a 18% to 29% failure rate with it, as there’s a failure rate with everything but always use more then one.

I guess the whole reason behind me wanting to write this is the fact that females are still scared to buy condoms, and there’s nothing wrong with females buying them.

When it comes to normal life, ugh.

This week I’ve spent two days trying to finish Randi’s apron since I didn’t work on it then ended up cutting pieces out wrong. -_- Tomorrow morning I put the last two stitches in it and I’m finished! Well until she tries it on. I’m sure I’ll have to fix the skirt part of the apron, it looks super long to me. I couldn’t try it on and use my body to mark it or anything so I did my best with guessing. I’ll just have to explain it to her and I’m sure she’ll understand about it all.

I have a skirt like my pirate skirt all cut out and ready to be finished. I used a yellow and white fabric, in the end I think it will look cute.

Tonight I cut out the outside fabric for my half cloak. I was originally going to work on my half cloak for my pirate costume, but the fabric I wanted to use I didn’t have enough of. >_< So I’m going to go through fabric tomorrow morning and see if I can find anything. I have a feeling I’ll have to tea stain something white – which isn’t a big deal at all. But anyways the cloak I’m making right now is just for everyday. The fabric is black and white checkered, and the lining is either going to be red or blue. I remember seeing some great blue fabric where we keep out fabric, but I’m hoping there’s some of the same kind of fabric in red.

I have two big projects that I’m going to start working on next week.

One project is a jacket to go with the whole pirate thing. I already have the buttons for the jacket, but I have yet to figure out what kind of fabric to use. I’ve never made a jacket before, but it looks easy.

The next project is making a pair of pants. The only thing close to “pants” that I’ve ever made was a pair of green leggings.

Tomorrow though is Friday, no more projects!

I think around 2:30 or 3:00 I’m going to head to the coffee shop to use their wifi for a while. I haven’t had good internet at home for like two weeks so I have a few things I really want to update and check out. So I’ll have loads of time to do that. I think I’m going to take my stupid hat with me too so once I’m finished with internet things I can sit and work on it a little bit.

I am excited for the weekend, well for the usual reason. ^_^

Oh yeah and we’re going to a fair. The inner kid in me loves fairs. And the photographer in me loves fairs. I already have my camera all cleared of pictures, when I get up in the morning I’m going to charge it.

When it all comes down to it though, I’m just excited to have a chance to spend time with him. He makes me smile and he doesn’t have to try. Just thinking of him brings a smile to my face. And well, it’s been a while since I’ve smiled with my heart.

Again, I hope everyone has a great weekend and be safe!

Where is me bed

Listening To: Vs. World by Curious Volume

Today has been one big sewing day, well for me it has been.

For a while I had been putting off things I wanted to make for myself since I’ve had other things to do. Well since I kind of screwed up on the apron I was making and can’t really do anything until I get more fabric for it, I took the day to work on things for me.

This skirt I’ve had cut out for a while. I even had the panel pieces sewed together, Cherry Skirtbut I had kind of forgotten about it until the other day. I was cleaning up a bit of my sewing mess I had in the living room and found it. I was going to be doing some sewing with red fabric anyways so I figured I’d at least do the hem on it. Well just going the hem turned into finishing the whole skirt. I thought I’d have a bit of trouble with it due to the fact of it being made up of panels, but no problems!

I am going to start selling these pleated skirts (panel and no panel). I’m just flipping around the price in my head. There is a lot of work, and a lot of fabric in each skirt. Plus the elastic for the waist and the hook/eye closure. I was thinking about having a base price of around $25. That would be for a simple solid colored skirt. The price would increase based on size (use of fabric and elastic) and type of fabric (print vs solid). I was thinking about having a somewhat “base” price for the printed pleated skirts right around $35. Some print fabrics though are beyond $10 a yard – and how much fabric I need depends on the size the end skirt will be.

I was finally smart though, I made little templates to use when making the pleats so it doesn’t take me very long at all to put the pleats in. I do them all and pin them, then I go back and double pin so I’m not losing any of them.

In the end though, I’m super thrilled over how it turned out in the end! I really can’t wait to wear it. ^_^

I’ve never been a skirt/dress kind of person, but lately I have been wearing them a lot more. I think it’s because I’m finally feeling a little more like home in my own body. I know that seems odd to hear, but blurring the gender lines is something I’ve enjoyed over the last year. And just because I embrace what society says a female should wear does no mean by any means that I think every female should wear those items. If you’re gender queer, go for it, you’re beautiful! Wear what you want, and don’t let anyone look down on you for doing it.

The next skirt I started work on is for a costume, a pirate costume. I admit, I’ve Pirate Skirtalways wanted a skirt like this anyways. ^_^ So it just means I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this skirt aside from dressing up like a pirate. It was also the first time I made a square circle skirt. Yes, I said square circle. It was super simple and easy. Though I always hem anything I make so it took longer then it should have. I think if I was doing it just out of t-shirt fabric then I wouldn’t hem it and it would only take me maybe 15 minutes to get it cut and sewn. I was going to originally do it just black, but I found enough red fabric. How could I not add a touch of my favorite color? haha.

As far as the rest of the pirate outfit, I’m pretty sure I’m just going to wear my corset as my top. I mean I haven’t ever had a reason to wear it. Considering the weather will be cooling down I may at least get some kind of shrug thrown together just in case. I guess my whole thing is, I don’t want to have to make a top if I have something I can wear.

I have yet to work out some kind of belt though. The only reason behind a belt is so I don’t have to carry a bag just to have my camera/phone. I made another belt pack, this one out of fake leather with a big (fake) pearl button on it. It’s larger enough for my camera, phone and anything else I may need. Now I just need something to wear so I can have it on me. I know the easy thing is to go through belts and just find one…well I have no belts that would fall under this type of costume. I could just do the old (easy) fabric belt. No sewing just cutting. Or I could take some of the fake leather I have left and make one.

I’m just torn on what would look better.

The last thing is my hat. My damn hat that has taken two weeks instead of two Hatdays. I’m still not sure if I like it or not. I’ve never made a hat before and I’m kind of doing it blind. But I just have to remember what I see isn’t what other people see. And I know the picture is bad lighting, I just didn’t want to move from my bed. Haha. It’s kind of hard to tell from the picture, because the hat looks kind of dead for some reason…but I did finish the front stitches on the hat today. All the stitching you see is just “cosmetic”. The back part of the hat is still pinned there, I have yet to be happy with how the back part of it looks to even try to stitch it at all. All of the work though on the hat is hand work. Which means sore little hands because of how much work it takes to get the needle through that stuff. It’s not as hard as real leather, but it’s hard enough for me to have to use pliers sometimes to get the needle pulled through.

Yeah and my wig needs a wash and brush.

Tomorrow I’m going to hopefully work a bit on this tiny painting I’ve been trying to get ideas for…for like three weeks. I think I finally have a solid idea. Since the canvas is tiny anyways I wasn’t going to do anything with detail. I do know I want to take the time to make sure I have a good solid background paint on it before I start painting the main image on it.

I still need to get pictures of a painting I touched up so I can put it in the album of things for sale. It’s just one of the bird paintings I did. I had no idea what was on the canvas but it wouldn’t come off, and what bit came off the rest of the painting was just faded for some reason. I repainted the bits that I screwed up while trying to clean it. From how it looks to me, I don’t think you can tell any of that happened.

I have a 4×5 canvas left too. No clue what I’m going to do with it, I just want to do something fun. Or try something new. I have been talking a lot about giving Pop Art a try. The only thing that really means is doing a lot of reading and looking at Pop Art. I like to know the history and everything about a type of art before I try it. I know about Pop Art, but I want to know more before I start playing with it.

Today I did get a surprise in the mail. What can I say, I don’t really get mail that much at all, so when I get mail it’s a surprise to me. I got a sample of Hemp Hearts. I’ve heard a lot of people liking Hemp Hearts and that it’s something good for you. I read the back of the sample and just with the small sample I received there’s 10g of protein in it. Which surprised me, but also got me thinking to check out what places around here sells Hemp Hearts so I can start adding them to my diet.

I’m back to not being able to sleep at night, or through the night. I thought maybe it was because the dog kept coming in and out all night so I shut my door. That didn’t help. I thought maybe I was getting too hot so I turned the fan on. That didn’t help. Ugh. I just want to sleep.

I didn’t take a nap today though so I’m hoping that will help a little.

Toady I woke up, I guess for the main reason of sending Jason a text…because I fell asleep right after I sent it.

That could come across as cute though, but I swear I was going to get out of bed after I sent it…I just never did because I was watching a new story. I never seen the end of the news story though because I fell asleep.

I just really hope to get this sleeping problem worked out soon. It usually takes me a while to get this problem fixed, which sucks since it happens every few months.

Another great weekend

The weekend is over, sadly. With that said, I hope everyone had a good one.

My weekend was pretty good.

Okay, saying it was good is a lie.

It was great.

Friday afternoon I went to the park (with my mom, step dad and niece) to feed the ducks. My niece and I were both bit by a duck…I guess he was wanting the bread we had super bad. No broken skin or anything. It was more funny then anything.

After that I went to Kohl’s to spent a $10 card. I ended up getting some of those plastic bracelets ($4), yoga shorts ($4) and two pairs of tights ($1.20 each). I bought the bracelets because I wear a few of the plastic ones and my niece is always taking them, so that’s why I got them so I could replace the ones she took and she can have some of her own. The yoga shorts were bought for the pure fact of not having shorts to sleep in, I refuse to wear shorts any other time. And since it is going to start turning cold soon the tights will come in handy. I bought a pair of pink ones and a pair of orange tights. I only had to pay out of pocket like 85 cents. ^_^ Score!

The rest of the day I watched some movies and ended up taking a nap.

Jason picked me up around 10:30/11 – can’t really remember. All I know for sure is that I was happy to see him. ^_^

There’s a stupid pothole as you leave my driveway. I know it’s there, but even knowing it I had my can of soda between my legs. When we hit the hole the soda went all over me. I guess the good thing is I have no problem changing in the car and I had an extra pair of pants with me.

I met some of his friends for the first time too, I’m still shy around new people though. I think that’s something that will never change though. I mean, that’s who I am.

We all went out for drinks at this tiny little place. Reminds me of the bar that’s next to The Mr. Roboto Project. Though while walking into the bar I did have some drunk guy yell at me “Hey shorty.”. Which…killed my mood for a little bit. I don’t like when people do that, really I don’t like when drunk people do that.

This bar does pour heavy. And nearing the end of the visit to the bar I was thinking they misunderstood Jason when he ordered a half a shot of rum in a coke. Considering the bottle half of the glass seemed to be nothing but rum, I think they put a shot and a half in. I didn’t finish the drink, for fear of getting drunk and making a fool of myself. It’s still too soon for me to do something stupid like that. I was right at tipsy though.

And well even when I’ve had a drink I’m still a sucker for holding hands.

The “chicken” sandwich we shared after getting to his place did help with soaking up the booze in my belly.

I made him watch Hellraiser – for the first time, can’t believe that. It had been a while since I seen Hellraiser too. But I think the cuddling made the movie better then it really is. I had missed his cuddling.

Saturday started with sushi for lunch. It was a new place for me, and good sushi. ^_^ I love the way he says something just to make me laugh or smile, I was doing a lot of both during lunch.

We ended up at the mall after that. The mall in Canton is seriously four times the size of the one we have around here. They don’t have any open storefronts like we do in our mall. Plus they have so many more stores in there it’s not even funny.

Oh and we went to that food store up there that I love going to, for the pure fact of being able to buy things there I can eat. I didn’t find what I was looking for but I did find some awesome animal crackers.

So over the past week I was working on this goofy mix CD. You know because I’m a girl, and sometimes I’m a 12 year old girl. It took me forever to get it done because I kept questioning the songs I had picked out. I did a lot of deleting and adding…and re-adding. I did finish it Friday afternoon. Though when he dropped me off at home I did take a minute to think about giving it to him. I mean…who gives mix cds any more. And it is kind of something kids do. But music speaks more then anything else (aside from art). I did give him to him and his reaction made me smile. At first I was just going to do a digital playlist and send it to him, but the problem with that was the fact that some of the songs are not online. Sometimes I’m lazy and don’t want to deal with uploading songs. So in the end the CD format won.

Lately the wifi hasn’t been connecting at all. So no more uploading to DeviantArt until I go to the coffee shop – which will be Friday. It bums me out a lot because I have been keeping up on uploading to my DA account. And a lot of my new photography was getting journal features like I used to.

Tomorrow I’m going to be fixing the background of this one painting. I don’t know what happened to it but it got dirty or something. I tried to wipe it off but that didn’t work. I’m also working on that 3inx3in canvas too. I have to get a nice solid background color, I’m just making sure the coats are totally dry before adding another. Adding a lot of wet on top of wet just means it takes forever to dry.

Painting

Talking about paintings…I finally hung up my Bluebird painting! I know it looks weird because there’s no frame, but I’m being super picky about the frame. Everything else hanging on my walls are black frames.

I’m still looking for a bank that doesn’t rape you with fees. Right now it’s the leading thing I’m trying to get worked out. Not only zero to little fees, but one that doesn’t take forever to get your ATM card to you.

I have been building up a little photo album on facebook with some items I have. Once I get the bank/paypal stuff worked out I will be looking toward getting a website, or at the least a subdomain on here. I do want to wait for domains to be on sale though if I’m going with that.

This week I’m going to bust ass to get the apron for Randi finished. She’s been waiting too long for it. I just hope she likes it. Once I do finish it I will be adding full aprons to the things people can order from me. I still have a couple crayon aprons to finish up too.

This week is just going to be an artsy crafty week for me. I can finish working on those aprons while the paint on the two canvas dry.

I also bought like half a yard of clear vinyl weeks ago…and have no clue what to do with it. 0_0

Well I hope everyone had a good weekend. I’m going to get a shower soon and get in bed. I slept until noon today, but I didn’t sleep through the night.
