If you’re looking for a film worthy of an Oscar, this isn’t the film for you. A lot of people have said it’s horrible, even Sylvester Stallone himself.
To me though, this film is funny and well it has Estelle Getty! I was young when I first seen the film, it was during a film when a lot of these type of films was coming out every week. This film holds a special place in my heart because I can remember watching it. So I was overly excited to finally find a copy to call my own.
Most cop films are horrible anyways, but add the cop having a overly protective (and intrusive) mother to the mix and it kind of goes down hill. With that said this film is funny and Estelle is just so cute!
One of the early points in the film is Estelle cleaning a gun, though she cleans it as a mother would – in the sink and whatever products she thinks would work. It’s one of the funniest and one of my favorite parts of the film.
In the end she’s not trying to get in the way of what her son does, she’s just wanting to help out.
