I Sold Nothing

Tuesday 29th May, 2012 - 11:04pm | 4 Comments »

The arts/crafts show start Friday and ended yesterday (Monday). Friday I had to get up at 6am, Saturday I had to get up at 6am, Sunday I had to get up at 7am and yesterday I had to get up at 6am. Getting up those early hours didn’t leave me much time when I got home to grab food, get ready for bed and blog. Last night I ended up falling asleep around 10 – and I was honestly going to write something.

Sadly I sold nothing during those four days. I’m seriously bummed out. I’m going to add a page to the site at some point this week with information and pictures of a few things I have for sale.

Since I had my items with my aunts, I was able to go to the stores near where we were set up. Which was great since it was so damn hot outside.

Friday I walked down to a second hand store. I found a Frank Sinatra record – I’m 80% sure I don’t have this one. And they do a great thing since they have different colored tags on their items, each week one colored tag is 50% off and another colored tag is $1. So I ended up going through the clothes. I found myself a Hello Kitty shirt for $2 and a Michael Jackson shirt for $2. I also found Elizabeth a t-shirt for $1.

Saturday was Elizabeth’s birthday party at the park.

Elizabeth's Birthday Party

Any of the picnic tables that are covered by a pavilion you have to pay to use. Word was Nancy called and they said she didn’t have to pay. Anyways half way through the party a police officer who works at the park came and said someone has to go to the park office and pay for it. Well $45 later my brother paid for it. Yes $45 to use picnic tables at the park for a birthday party.

Those pictures are not the only ones I took, I just picked the three I liked the most.

The bad part is the shopping cart I ordered came in the mail Friday but no one could pick it up from the post office. Saturday they picked it up before the party but since I was stuck at the craft thing until the party I couldn’t put it together. So I ended up staying up a little later then I wanted Saturday night to put it together.

I was going to have her open the wrapped shopping cart – I put it together, put all the play food in it and loosely wrapped it in paper – Sunday morning but she was still in bed when I left the house so it had to wait.

Sunday I visited that second hand store again. This time I found Elizabeth another t-shirt for 50 cents and I found myself a plaid skirt for $1. Yes I found a t-shirt that was $1 and it was 50% off – and it looked new! This skirt I got is a size 10/12 in girls – it’s a 10/12 because it’s one that has elastic running through the back so you can adjust it.

The cardboard containers had to be put up for now – she’s still a little too young for those. And I found a few of the plastic cans today missing the paper. Ha ha. I am going to look for different kinds of play food.

My mom took this picture shortly before I went to bed on Sunday night. Elizabeth got a tricycle for her birthday, I can use it too. Ha ha.

Monday was the last day for the arts/crafts show. Which I was so glad when it was over because it was just so damn hot. I did walk down to the second hand store one last time though. I ended up finding a black & gray tank top for $1.50, another tank top for $1 and a t-shirt for $1.

Today I was hoping to start cleaning, but I didn’t. I’ve spent all day trying to get facebook to let me upload pictures from the weekend. Normally I use their batch uploader but today I wasn’t able to get it to work for some reason. So I was stuck with just being able to upload 5 pictures at a time. Well for the past hour or so I’ve been forced to go through the pictures I just uploaded to delete the duplicates. I still have pictures to upload too! Ugh. At this time I’m 100% sure I won’t be getting these finished tonight.

Today though while I was outside my mom had me duck under the steps to grab the dog toys and look for something she thought had been dropped under the steps. When I gave up my search I brought my head from under the step and went to sit up. Just then the wind blew and I caught the back of my head on the corner of the metal door! My word, it hurt SO bad! Luckily there was no blood, just a massive headache. I even skipped a nap I wanted to take for fear I hit my head hard enough to give myself a concussion – I seriously cracked my head on that door.

Sadly I think I’m close to going to sleep. Since I fell asleep so early last night I was up by 9am. So tired.

  1. I missed a lot too! ~~~

That’s crazy that it costs 45 dollars to rent a pavilion. Ouch. But the birthday party and little Lizzie looks so damn adorable. Hahaha

I love your new layout btw! Anyhow, I’m sorry it didn’t go as you planned ;/ the arts/craft show anyhow. maybe better luck next time? I know you can do it!

I hope you’re okay and you didn’t get a concussion or anything.

  2. That’s pretty steep to pay to use picnic tables …..

    She’s so adorable :)

  3. Aww, I love the picture of you and Elizabeth on the tricycle! ^^ Your hair looks fab. Very jealous of Elizabeth’s presents, I must say! XD

    $45 is ridiculous! :/ What in the world?! Talk about a killjoy! ><;

  4. You’ve been busy these past few days! The hard work you put in is probably the reason why you fell asleep too soon. It’s a bummer to hear that you didn’t sell anything. But hopefully, you’ll be able to sell things online :) ! At least you got the experience regardless.

I’m glad you found some goodies for a cheap price :) ! Elizabeth must be happy with her gifts! I love the Minnie doll she got :) !

Paying $45 to use picnic tables at the park…?! That’s a bit of a ripoff since it’s at a park. I hope it’s a private park for all it matters. Everyone in the family must’ve love Elizabeth! She gets all of the cool toys for a child :) !

Good luck with all of the things you have to do! Facebook is complicated these days with their new updates. I guess that explains why I don’t really bother with it anymore?

Eeep! Small accidents can be really painful! Hopefully, with time and proper rest. Catch up with some sleep too! It definitely helps a lot!

I know for a fact, you’ll get an award if you’re in our band. “Best hairstyle”. Oh yes ;D

    Take care :) !
