Doin’ Things My Own Way

Stinky

The first day of fall has come and gone – meaning fall is here strong. Also meaning the weather has taken a turn for the cold. I’m just hoping it’s not as cold as it was last year, my body isn’t made for the below zero temperatures.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged and I do feel bad. It just seemed any time I thought I would be able to I was just too tired and wanted to curl up with blankets and sleep.

So last weekend was that big festival. My first and only time going and running a both – I’ll explain why later. It was fun, and I didn’t spend a lot of time at the both because there was a lot to do at the festival.

So get ready…here is massive picture spam from the festival…

Festival: Day 1

Petting Zoo

They had a petting zoo at the festival. For some reason I had my niece all day so I took her to the petting zoo. They had a kangaroo, which she didn’t know what it was. She did know what a turtle was though.

Lake

The festival is held by a lake, which was a nice little walk from where we were. But I took my niece to the lake at the end of the day because she was getting sick of being there – and she wasn’t the only one.

Festival: Day 2

Day two I was pretty much able to do whatever I wanted, even though it rained all day and was hardly in the 50s. They have a Native American Pow Wow at the festival, that area is where I spent 90% of my day. I had so much fun there, and I learned a lot.

Festival: Day 3

The last day of the festival my niece was there again. This means what money I made during the first two days I spent.

First thing I went to look at was the car show.

To my great surprise someone had the car I’m dying to buy. It’s a 1969 Roadrunner! I want an original stock though and in red, but seeing one was great.

Dick Goddard

Another thing that happened Sunday – the last day of the festival – was meeting Dick Goddard. He works for the Fox (ew) 8 station out of Cleveland. Even though I don’t support any Fox station, Dick Goddard is a big advocate for animals. He was at a both that helped save skunks, yes skunks. Though I think my niece thought they were just funny colored cats.

After we seen Dick Goddard, and my niece got $20 out of me to get a t-shirt and book he drew the pictures for we went to the Pow Wow.

The first thing she said when she seen anyone dressed up was: They’re real.

Mountain Men

There’s an area of the festival that’s “Mountain Men” – or primitive campers. These people make their own “tents”, use no electric the whole weekend and dress as the first people to come across in boats would dress. I didn’t spent a lot of time in this area because they were all always around fires and such.

As far as how well I did, I did better than I thought I would – even considering what I spent there.

Now the reason why this was my first and last time being at the festival – or any festival/craft fair: I have a job. It’s nothing fancy and nothing to brag about. It’s only a fast food job, but it’s a steady paycheck – which is what I’m looking forward to. Though as of right now my first two pay checks won’t really be much, but it will be a little bit.

The first thing I have to do with my checks is buy a new cell phone because I’m switching providers. I found one that’s $5 cheaper than what I was paying.

My first real day of work is next Tuesday. I only work 4:30pm to 7pm so it should be an easy day. I was told I’d pretty much be watching videos the whole time anyways.

The sad thing is I had to order my own pants for my uniform because they can only order a size 2…which is way too big for me. They’re suppose to pay me back for the pants though, so that’s the good thing. I only spent $16 on the pants…but I did order some other things with the pants since I had to order from amazon. haha.

I ordered a movie called Attack Of The Killer Backpacks and I ordered my first tarot card deck.

And I should have my pants before I start working – or at least I hope I do. I was told that I could just wear black jeans until I get them in the mail.

I also had to buy shoes…$32 later I’m still pissed at the price. I have never spent above $15 on shoes. I’m just…Grr!

Since I’m not going to craft things any more I am uploading images of everything I have on hand to sell on the Cherri Delights facebook page [link]. I just don’t like Etsy any more and I’m not going to be using them to sell. So I’m only going to do sales through facebook and email. Sounds kind of weird but easier for me in the end.

I’m also getting ready to do the first giveaway on Anarchy Kitchen [link]! I’m hoping to have everything up for it tonight. The product I’m giving away, I’m going to do the review and at the bottom of the page I’m going to have the info for the giveaway. I’ve never done one before so this is kind of a trail and error thing for me. I hope it goes well though.

I do have a lot of products to do reviews for and I’m going to start marking on the calendar when I want to post the reviews. I have a review for cheese to do, pasta, cookies (and giveaway), canned goods from one company, mock meat products…I know it’s going to be harder with work that’s why I’m starting to mark on a calendar when I need to post the reviews and do giveaways. Though at this point no one has really been visiting the domain. So that kind of bums me out, but I kind of thought that would happen.

I did post the recipe for Mushroom Stroganoff [link] last night.

  1. The festival looks so beautiful. I actually crushed on one of my friends that happened to be directly related to Native American Indians(can’t remember what tribe). He’s still cute ~

Looks like you guys had fun! Beautiful photos all around, and plus, that cat looks beautiful. I always found beauty in black cats. 🙂
