Breaded Tofu with Rice

Monday night I used half of the package of cubed tofu. First I made brown rice – instead of cooking it in water I put vegetable bouillon in the water to flavor the rice while cooking. I breaded the tofu in bread crumbs that had cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, sage and black pepper in it.

Tuesday my mom and I went out. We just went to the mall for a bit in the afternoon.

There’s a couple new stores in our mall so I was kind of wanting to check them out to see how they were. To my surprise one of the stores isn’t that bad priced and I seen a two piece outfit I’m considering going back to buy.

It was a leopard print pencil skirt that came with a matching top and it was only $10! I’m kind of kicking myself for not buying it when I was in there, but as I looked through what they had I didn’t see a small or x-small. So I’m hoping that if (or when) I go back they’ll have it in my size.

Fried Rice and Veggies

The main reason for our afternoon out was because my mom wanted to go to the one Chinese place she ate at while we were out before Christmas. She got the same thing she ordered that time. I got fried rice with steamed veggies. I love how they steam their veggies because they flavor the steaming water with garlic – best thing ever! And I really ate every single bite of my food.

When we were done though my mom didn’t want to go through another store so she walked out to the car while I walked through a store to walk out of the mall. I ended up stopping to buy myself a bra.

I only wear a 32A so it’s hard to find “adult” bras for me and sometimes it’s hard to find bras in general. So I found one one sale for $2 and it has blue hearts on it.

Before we left the mall area though we went to the craft store. I picked up hand soap for the bathroom – for some reason everyone forgets to buy any while they’re out. I picked out a blueberry scent.

I also bought my niece some birthday gifts – I’m totally starting early this year with birthday shopping. I’ll share pictures of what I bought later on in this post.

It was a great day out though.

Wednesday my mom and I ended up going out again for a short bit because she finally realized she needed a USB wifi adapter like I had to buy for my computer. We just went to Staples and it was only a $5 price difference from where I bought mine – she ended up getting the same one I bought since I already had the drivers installed on her computer.

While I was in there I looked around for an external DVD burner – they had one and it’s double the price of the one I kind of have my heart set on. With shipping the one I’m considering buying will be under $35 – oh and I can order it in red (my favorite color). I mean it’s always great when you can order something for your computer in your favorite color.

My mom also ended up buying a new mouse. She had been using my old red and gray mouse – which is at least 8 years old…it was the first wireless mouse I ever bought and my aunt got me a new mouse for my computer two years ago for Christmas. So my mom just ended up buying one like my old one.

Since we have the new cable service, it came in handy this week. My female issues hit me super hard – to the point where it hurt for me to move. When I was in school sometimes I had to just not go to school some days because of it.

Anyways I was pretty much able to get an idea of what channels we have while I was laying on the couch Wednesday night. We get one channel that’s Discovery Health & Fitness – it’s one with a lot of the real life medical shows, I love those shows for some reason. Another channel I’ve always loved: LOGO! I’m seriously addicted to RuPaul’s Drag Race…I always have been. Oh and BBC America is awesome because some days they show Kitchen Nightmares all day long. haha.

Thursday I felt so bad but I had to go out with my aunt to pick up what items we need to bake the cupcakes for next week. I was also able to pick up two more things for my niece. I’m so close to having birthday shopping finished already!

Birthday Gifts

These are the gifts I have so far for my niece. The first thing is a little charm bracelet with a duck charm and a cat charm – I also ordered a pig charm! The second thing is a Doc McStuffin’ bag, and lastly a Doc McStuffin’ sand bucket. I’m still going to get her a few more small things but I’m going to put most of my money and effort into charms for her bracelet.

Also I had a little idea!

I think it would be super cute for her to get extra birthday cards this year. So if anyone wants to send her a card let me know and I’ll email you everything you need to know!

Cherry Filled Cookies

Today my older brother’s girlfriend gave us two bags of dried cherries. So I made cherry filled cookies. My grandma wrote a recipe years and years ago for raisin filled cookies. So I used the same recipe and just replaced the raisins. I haven’t had one yet but everyone says they turned out great.

Tonight I’ve just been so tired, mostly because I had a hard time sleeping and I was woke up early. I just hope I can sleep tonight and well sleep in a bit in the morning.

I think it’s time for a bubble bath.

Make Your Entrance Long

Two days in a row of taking a two-year-old (almost three) shopping…that is the perfect birth control!

Wednesday I was going to go shopping with my aunt in hopes of getting a few items bought up for the bake sale at the end of the month – and she had to pay a bill.

Well that morning I got up and I made soup and was eating it at the kitchen table. While I was eating it my niece sat down at the table and was eating a hot dog and cheese.

For some reason she loves hot dogs, but she’ll only eat them cold.

When I was finished with my soup I said that I needed to go get dressed and ready to leave. I shouldn’t have said anything. As soon as I said that my niece said I can’t leave, and she looked at my mom and told her she was going too. My mom ended up calling my aunt and in the end my niece went with us.

So instead of dragging my niece into the place where my aunt had to pay the bill we just sat in the van. Before we went there we picked up the mail so I was able to entertain her for a little while with the ads. That only lasted so long though, we ended up outside walking around the parking lot and we took a little walk down the street.

As soon as my aunt was done we heard those words I was hoping we wouldn’t hear: I want something to eat, I want something to drink.

So we ended up having to go to a place and pick food up. The good thing was it was a nice day so we went to the park and ate at the park.

She’s also in the middle of potty training, so the good thing was where we parked was right next to the bathrooms so we went to the bathroom before we left.

We had to go to a craft store – it’s one with a $1 section. So I didn’t really get to look at things, I was in the $1 section. She had piggy bank money and her goal is to always spend all of her money. So she ended up with two new rubber duckies, a coloring book, new crayons and a crown.

We did go to the restaurant supply store, but they don’t carry paper products. Which was a huge surprise. So we have no cake/cupcake boxes still. >_<

The last stop was to pick up some baking items. And it also led to having to buy Spongbob Square Pants Mac-n-Cheese. The good thing is, it was on sale for 88 cents.

Before we got out of the store she also had to buy a ball.

I went down the drink section looking for Kool-Aid flavors to use for that popcorn. I found that they had the Watermelon Kool-Aid! So I bought two to make Kool-Aid with and one for popcorn. Another new flavor is green apple! I’m more excited over the watermelon flavor though.

Yesterday was another shopping trip with my niece.

This time I was just going to Kohl’s to spend a gift card. I LOVE that they mail out the promotional gift cards. My mom always gets one and gives it to me.

My niece somehow got her dad to give her $10 the night before, so she alone had $15 to spend.

The gift cards they mail out though are $10, so I always go in and have a goal of only spending $10 or a little over.

I did find a pair of boots that would have been $2, but when I tried them on my niece didn’t like them and told me I couldn’t get them. Haha. So I didn’t get them, plus they were a size 4 and the brand they were I needed a 3. I hate that shoe brands are not all the same size. >_< I mean the show brand that Payless owns (the shoes you find in their store for around $10) I wear a size 2!

In the end I ended up buying a pair of these awesome leopard print jeans. They’re a size 12 though so they’re not “skinny”, they’re baggy and I’m hoping after a wash or two they’ll look better. The original price was $40! My thought was…I’m never buying my niece $40 jeans! I only spent $4 on them.

I’m an underwear hoarder. I just can never have enough underwear, and if it’s cute – such as cartoon animals – I can’t pass it up. I looked through the underwear in the girls section because they had a lot marked down but I didn’t see any I really liked. So I ended up getting a couple pair in the juniors section. One pair was $1.80 (original price $9) and the other pair was 90 cents (original price $9).

The last thing I bought was a tube top. But this one comes with straps that you can attach to it. I’ve been looking for one, and since this one was on sale and I wouldn’t end up spending any money on it that’s why I finally picked it up. It was $2.80 (original price $14).

So in the end I spent $10.13 – including tax!

At first my niece wanted to buy underwear. I’m not even kidding. Most kids want nothing to do with buying clothes, but she likes clothes. I’m not sure if that’s going to be a good thing or a bad thing when she gets older.

In the end though she ended up finding a Dora The Explorer doll. It’s the one where she’s a gymnast. The original price was $32.99. Which I was shocked by. But it was on sale so it was only $16.49.

To make it a lot easier I just put everything into one checkout. So the total was $17.07. If we would have bought everything at full price it would have been over $100.

After we were done there my mom had the idea of going to the park to feed the ducks. Well when we got to the park we realized none of the ducks were hungry. So my niece ended up playing.

I always go on the playground equipment with my niece. I see nothing wrong with it as long as there are not a lot of kids playing on it. Well this lady there seen a huge problem with it and started yelling! No joke! We had been at two other areas of the park before this and none of the other parents said a word to me, they quiet enjoyed seeing me playing on the stuff too. But this lady was like parent from hell or something. When she started yelling I picked my niece up and we went to the car.

I just can’t believe a parent would like that in public and in front of their child. I mean, how could you act like that? Screaming because someone is playing with a child – and she didn’t know if I was playing with my daughter or my niece, she had no clue what our relationship is.

Just as Wednesday as soon as we got in the car she started saying she was hungry. So we went to get ice cream.

Outfit picture: Crop vest, plaid pants, The Adicts t-shirt

I’m just tired after those two days of taking her shopping.

Later today I have to go help set up for the arts/crafts event that’s this Saturday. We can’t get into the building though to set up until after 6pm. So I have a long wait. I really want to take a nap, but I can’t. If I take a nap that means I’ll be up all night and Saturday is an early morning. Ugh.

Saturday the event is 9am to 4pm. I’m just hoping it goes well and I sell a few things.

Last night the best thing happened. My brother broke up with that horrid girl, which means she moved out. Now I can put things back in the bathroom!

Thanks to a family friend though we did find out for sure why she doesn’t have her daughter and who does. Turns out her dad has her daughter. Why? She couldn’t keep her daughter clean so someone called CPS on her.

I’m just hoping this makes him realize that he needs to worry about his daughter and not finding someone to lay down with. Though I have a feeling that isn’t going to happen any time soon, which is so sad. My mom did tell him that he needs to get to know someone before jumping into anything with them and letting them around his daughter.

Now I’ve been single for about three months. I haven’t really been looking for anything. Just making a few friends really.

Well I’ve made a new friend recently and we’ve been talking a bit every day. And we talk until we pretty much fall asleep at night. We’ve had some great talks and have found out through all the talking we’ve been doing we really understand each other – and well it’s awesome to not have to explain yourself to someone.

This morning I made a joke that I think I’m dying because of the huge lack of sleep from last night. His response to that was telling me that I can’t die. Well, I had to ask why…

because… *shuffles feet around nervously*… i like you, that’s why.

And I know I had such a stupid smile on my face. I do like him, but I haven’t had a chance to really be around him so I’m not sure how it’s going to be with extended hours around him. I’m just trying to take my time and everything – I just hope that doesn’t scare him away.

We have been talking about doing a little movie night or something like that. Which I think will be a good thing.

Give ‘Em A Good One Right In The Eye

I don’t know if any of you have ever had it, but there’s this stuff called Jell-O popcorn. It’s popcorn covered in a hard coating made with Jell-O. Well I don’t like Jell-O so I used flavored drink mix – it wasn’t Kool-Aid but I’m just going to call it Kool-Aid popcorn! [Recipe]

Okay, I know it sounds kind of weird but it’s actually good. Plus you can use whatever flavor is your favorite flavored drink mix. I wouldn’t recommend attempting this with kids helping you – when the mixture is hot you can get serious burns – but I do recommend you making it for kids!

I took the recipe and cut it down to 1/4 of the recipe – I was just testing the recipe out to see how well it turned out. Since I cut it down into 1/4 of the recipe I ended up using 1/4 teaspoon of the powdered drink mix. It was a pure guess but it turned out to be on spot – I think so anyways. The only downside is I have the rest of a packet of drink mix to figure out what to do with it. I’m sure I’ll find something though.

While I’m talking about food I’ll take the time to express how stressed I am over this bake sale that’s coming up. It’s going to be held the 1st though the 4th (May). So by looking at the calendar there’s not really a lot of time left. Ugh. Plus the number of cupcakes has me completely stressed.

How many cupcakes has to be baked for this bake sale? Only over 200. =_=

I know it seems crazy to make that many but it’s easy to freeze cupcakes and we’re making 10 different flavors.

I’m also working on my first cupcake recipe! I don’t want to say too much about this cupcake, but it’s taking me a while to get it together because instead of making the cake from scratch I’m writing the recipe out so you’re using a cake mix – I know a lot of people don’t have the time to make it from scratch so that’s why I’m doing it that way. If you know me though, you know I hate using cake mixes for anything. I think this cupcake is a very summery cupcake too. ^_^

Last week I took the time to dig out my vest – for some reason it was in with my costumes, no clue why it was in there. This thing has been a labor of love and sleepless nights. I’ve finally started adding studs to it. I did order some more studs from ebay – 90 cents total for 100! I can’t wait to get them in the mail.

I know 99% of people with vests buy patches to sew on. I have a love for all things paint – you guys know how much I love painting – so I paint my own patches. I haven’t added any new patches to it for a while, but I am working on a new one. The new one is going to be a pig wearing a cop hat. I just need to pick up the blue and pink paint that I need to paint it.

I have been throwing around the idea of making a patch that looks like name tag and having it say one of my nicknames on it – though I have no clue which nickname to use. I just think it would a great addition to the vest. And I still have so much room for patches too.

I also took the time to fix my belt. This is the belt I love for so many reasons, but due to me wearing it all the time right where it would feed through the buckle it was in two pieces. I found some heavy duty thread and sewed it together. I still have my blue and black belt, but I’m going to give that one a rest for a while so I can wear this one again. It sounds so odd, but I’ve missed this belt so much and I know the “fix” isn’t going to last very long but I’m going to wear it until I can’t “fix” it any more.

And here’s an outfit pictures from the 3rd. ^_^

A couple weeks ago I took all my band shirts that I’ve bought and fixed them so I can wear them all now. Adult small is too big on me so I took all the shirts and cut them down to a youth large. It just feels great to finally be able to wear all these shirts that I spent money on and were never able to wear. I did leave a couple big so I can sleep in them and such.

So a couple posts ago I explained this mess of a girlfriend my brother has. I have yet to figure out the truth behind why she doesn’t have her daughter – I don’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth. As far as things between her & I, they came to a head Sunday night.

I was talking with my mom. We were talking about his dog. I said: “He should have never gotten a dog when he couldn’t take care of his daughter.” (You all know how he doesn’t spend the time & such he should with her) Out of nowhere this girl shouts out “He does take care of his daughter!”. At that point I walked over to where I could see her and I said:

“I wasn’t talking to you. You’ll know when I’m talking to you, bitch.”

That’s all I said and I walked away. I can’t only take so much of someone thinking they know everything and thinking they’re part of everything. She isn’t and she’ll never be.

Well after that I was sure the shit storm was going to start. Turns out my mom loved the fact that I stood up to her. Before I went to bed that night my mom’s husband stopped me and told me he was proud of me for standing up to her. Needless to say I think it all proves no one likes her and everything is fed up with her crap.

I see clearly now that she’s a troublemaker, but she always makes it out so she’s the victim. The only victim I’m seeing is her daughter, her daughter has no mother.

But ever since the blow up between her and I, she’s been going to a friends house during the day so I don’t run into her. I guess she’s scared of me now, she did look like she was going to cry when I told her how it was. I think she’s never had someone stand up to her.

On a lighter note, I think I’m going to talk my mom into going with me to the mall Thursday. We’ll be taking my niece too, but it’s been a while since we’ve been to the mall with her. Plus I have a gift card for one of the stores to use. It would be nice to get some new shoes, but I don’t see that happening. At the least I’ll get a new kitchen item. ^_^

Today for the most part I spent time working on a few things before this art/craft event on Saturday. I have nothing totally finished though…mostly because I ended up making the cats a toy. haha. I’m figuring though I will be able to have at least a couple new things finished by Saturday.

I also took time to clean. Mostly putting clothes away. I have a bad habit of not putting them away after they’re washed. I thought having a closet would help break that habit, but so far it hasn’t. I also went in the bathroom and began the headache of cleaning out all the old products that are no good or that no one is using. So while I was cleaning I had music playing, so I thought it would be fun to share the playlist I was listening to.

In the morning though I have to go with my aunt. She has a bill thing to deal with first, after that we have to go to a local restaurant supply store to look at prices of cupcake boxes and things for the bake sale. She also has to go to JoAnn Fabric. I don’t have the money to spend there but I can at least go in there and look around at a couple things – mostly the paint to make more patches with.
