Friday night was spent with Jason and his friends at Canfield Fair [LINK]. It was the first time Jason and I have been to the fair and compared to ours, it’s HUGE!
Within maybe twenty minutes of being at the fair, before we found his friends, he had me going down a slide. I know that sounds a little weird so let me explain a little better…
At the fair they have these huge slides called Fun Slides (I think). You walk up stairs and sit on a burlap sack. There’s five slides hooked together. When each slide has a person on it, the man at the top says go. You race each other down the slide.
The only problem is I’m scared of heights.
Even with my fear, he was able to get me up on the slide. And well…it was just so cute that he wanted to do it. In the end, I loved it.
Over all, it was a great night. I may not be the most outgoing person around new people, but I do enjoy meeting new people. It just takes a while for me to warm up to them.
We were at the fair until they were closing stands down for the night.
The rest of the night can be summed up by saying we cuddled to Frank Sinatra songs. And went to bed kind of early for us.
Saturday we ever woke up early – for us.
We stopped at a cafe to get drinks and well me not thinking I didn’t watch (or ask) to see if there was milk in mine. By the time we got back to his place I realized there was. I was feeling so horrible I just wanted to die. After some water and cuddling I felt better though.
Saturday night we were going to meet up with some of his friends for a kind of game night. So we went shopping for some snacks to take. We ended up getting stuff to make mini pizzas. The mini pizzas were his idea, but it was my idea to make the dough from scratch. The toppings were (vegan) cheese, mushrooms, green pepper, banana pepper, onion and tomato.
It was the first time I had ever cooked with anyone, and I enjoyed it so much. Plus it was kind of romantic – in my eyes anyways.
The little game night was a lot of fun too. ^_^
The end of night was spent cuddling in bed and watching Children Of The Corn.
Sunday was a lazy day. Ordered Chinese and watched a badly edited film. Oh and we took a nap too.
I have to say, I’m loving the time we spend together more and more. We don’t have to go anywhere for me to be happy, staying at his place and watching bad movies is enough for me.
This week I had a couple projects I wanted to start which would just stress me out, but due to an issue that started Sunday I’m going to put off those stressful projects until next week. The issue, I’m pretty sure, is stress related. So I’m just going to reduce stress for the week in hopes that will help me out a little.
So this week I only have a few small projects to work on.
First one is finishing the skirt I made for my niece. Last night I did the hem and waistband. Now I just have to iron the waistband and sew it to the skirt. It’s the first project on my list for this week since it’s super simple and easy.
Next project is a half circle cloak for myself. I found this great black and white checkered fabric I’m going to use for the outer fabric, for the lining I’m using a “silky” gray fabric. Last night I sat debating on if I should add a collar to it so it’s not that simple, Well I cut a collar out so I’m going to add it. I was wanting to go as simple as I can with this cloak since it’s the first one I’ve ever made, but honestly while I was thinking about it I realized I don’t like cloaks without a collar. They just look like an oddly made superhero cape. ^_^ I do plan to make myself a half circle cloak with a capelet attached to it. That just sounds…totally like something I would wear all the time. Though I am considering making the capelet lace, but it all depend on what kind of fabric the main fabric is.
I do have Randi’s apron sewn, but I have yet to find buttons for the back part of it. We have a couple button jars I just have to go through them to find the perfect buttons. I can always grab a couple and let her pick. I’m also going to add a couple lace flowers (or bows) to the waistband.
I have another project for Randi I started on last night, it’s pretty simple and shouldn’t take that long.
Sunday night I talked to a friend who wants me to make an apron for his girlfriend – so cute! I’m excited for the chance to do it. So I got the numbers I needed for it as well as some ideas for fabrics. I can’t buy the fabric though until he pays me for the apron – I paid my cell phone, UGH! – but I think I’m going to look through some fabrics if I get a chance before I get the money so I can take pictures and have him be more part of the project. He said she’s super girlie, but likes that he’s punk, so I was thinking of going with a retro style fabric – when I mentioned that he loved the idea. I just hope the fabric I’m thinking of they still have. I seen this fabric one time and fell in love with it. One good thing is I may not have to buy lace, it just depends on what color lace I’ll need.
Once I get the money I’ll also be able to open a bank account. A friend let me know that the bank I was going to go with doesn’t have fees or anything. Which is great because that’s what I read on their website but someone told me that wasn’t right – great to know from someone who actually uses the bank that it’s true. I just hope they’re quick with sending ATM cards and such so I can then get the paypal set up and work toward doing the store and everything online.
I really want to do a whole different website, but until I start making some money with it I’ll have to just do a subdomain on here. I am going to use the flat rate packages when it comes to shipping so if I have out of the country orders, the shipping rate won’t be sky high. I think the only hard part is going to be dealing with the custom orders.
Right now I’m thinking for the first few months or so I’m only going to do custom orders on things such as bow earrings, hair bows, bracelets and paintings – oh and half cloaks. Then I’ll slowly work into skirts and such.
I am excited to get this off the ground. ^_^ Oh and I did pick a name, well it’s the name I’m using on facebook for it right now: Cherry Delights. More then likely that will change, but I kind of like it because it doesn’t hold me to doing one thing – such at jewelry, or only sewn projects. I can pretty much use that name and do anything I want.
I’m also not going to be using any materials that are made from animals. ^_^ No wool, no silks, no leather – I’m super stoked to offer animal friendly items to people. I’m sure I’ll get a few people who has never come across animal friendly items will buy some things, opening their eyes to the world of it all. ^_^
I don’t have a logo yet though. Which I really want to get a logo done so I can add it to the tags I’ll attach to the items before mailing. I kind of want to base the logo on my tattoo. Maybe I’ll play around with the logo idea this week, doing things like that doesn’t bring me stress at all…it kind of mellows me out.
In other news…
Two words: Hemp Hearts!
Okay, sounds kind of weird if you have no clue what I’m talking about. Well I’m a member of a website where you can get free samples of new items and give feedback so they can change things if they need to. Anyways I got a sample of Hemp Hearts (Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils) last week. Hemp Hearts are raw shelled hemp seeds. I admit, I thought it sounded kind of weird when I first read about them. I do like trying new things though. I read there is 10g of protein in 3tbsp, which gave me all the more reason to try them out.
You can use them on salads…well ANYTHING! I finally opened and tried them last night while I was laying in bed. It was just like eating nuts or something along those lines. They are smaller then a sunflower seed so it wasn’t very easy. In the end though I can’t wait to buy more.
They have such a great nutty flavor to them, which got my baker mind thinking about how great they would be added to cookies. Putting some in a chocolate chip cookie would be so good. I want to get another package before I make stir fry again, they would be such a great little addition.
