See Me Cruising Down Route 666

It’s to believe yesterday it was in the high 60’s and today it’s well below 50!

The good thing is I think everyone was able to enjoy the weather in their own way. Puppy & Wednesday sat on the back steps. Wednesday was born around Halloween so this is her first true time figuring out what’s outside.

She could hear birds but she wasn’t able to spot them. The other kittens were outside from time to time too.

I used the nice weather to get out of the house for a few and use my camera. Boy have I missed going outside.

I also used yesterday to turn music up and hang up some paintings I’ve been putting off. That wall has been a while in the making and all three of those paintings are based on songs. One day when I have the extra cash – and remember – I am going to buy frames for them, but they’re fine the way they are now.

Last night I was trying to renew my domain. I made a stupid little accident and typed the wrong amount I wanted to transfer to my Name Cheap account. Well I think they acted on my request and refunded the money so I can add the right amount and renew my domain. The downside is I can’t get my online banking site to load so I’m not 100% sure – I want to be super sure about it so I’m not digging a hole with my account. Last thing I want to do.

Today my niece and I got new temporary tattoos. They’re the super cheap ones that start to fade within an hour though.

It’s so cold today I just wanted to stay in bed, but that didn’t happen since my niece was here…and well to be honest that would never happen.

With the convention coming up I did finally pick which outfit I’m going to wear. I’m going to wear my Little Bo Peep costume since I’ve had so much time put into it already. Tomorrow I’m going to try it on one last time to make sure everything is great with it, and then I’m going to get it on the hangers and in a bag so that’s one less thing I need to think about getting together.

I think I am getting more excited as it comes closer, but I’m still nervous.

Snacks and such are things that I’m trying to think about gathering a few before hand. I won’t have the extra money to eat out so I figure I can take a few things to eat. I mean most hotels have fridges and we have so many coolers around here.

As far as drinks go I’m going to take some empty water bottles and fill them with tea. So much cheaper compared to buying something at gas stations!

I’m also considering making some kind of bean dip, the kind I make is a take on hummus so there’s nothing like cheese or milk in it.

Easter is coming up too!

Last night my niece said she wants the Easter bunny to bring her a La La Loopsey…or however you spell it…the reason? Her mom told her she’s not going to buy her one, EVER! I can honestly believe she said that. So this just means my mo and I will be hunting down one of those dolls before Easter.

Oh yeah! Yesterday morning I woke up and one of the first things I did was I lost the ball for my nose ring. I spent so long looking for it and I finally gave up. So I ended up having to change my nose ring…and I realized how much I hate doing it. The nose ring I put in, I think is a bit smaller compared to how large the loop on the other one was. And the ball for this one is staying in so much better. I think the old nose ring was stretched out or something and that’s why the ball wasn’t staying in.

My War Paint Is Sharpie Ink

Hair

Here are some better shots of that haircut. I’ve been told it’s too short. I’ve always been told by many females that they wish they were like me and could “pull off that style”. The key is, it’s all about attitude. That’s the key to any style honestly. It’s all about how that style makes you feel. And well punk style, I feel home in that style.

Something else I’ve heard a lot of lately is people wishing they were as ambiguous as I am. I admit, I love to blur the gender line – I love to blur it a lot. Blur it beyond the point of just being through of as a tom boy. I have a chest binder that I’ve wore a couple times, I love how it makes me feel. Yes from time to time I am girlie, don’t get me wrong – I’m only overly girlie when I do Lolita. Lolita is my true girlie time.

Ever since I was little I never felt like I could identify as strictly male or female. I’ve always felt as though there was more to it. A couple years ago I found who I am, I’m a pansexual gender fluid person. When I realized who I really am, it felt amazing.

Gender Fluid (to me): Moving between genders or with a fluctuating gender identity

I wanted to change my social media accounts to gender fluid, but one of the major ones didn’t have a section for GF people. You had to ID as male or female.

GF

Finally last week Facebook made the move to include nearly all genders! It felt awesome to finally be able to click ‘Gender Fluid’ beside ‘Gender’! I’m not only proud that I can fully be myself, but I feel like a weight has been lifted from me.

Now to the more boring items I wanted to talk about, but I really had to talk about that first.

Cookies

I wanted cookie so I made these peanut butter & jelly cookies. The jelly is blackberry. ^_^ They turned out great, I wasn’t sure how they were going to turn out honestly. The recipe just seemed a bit off. I’ll post the recipe later this week, they’re super simple to make.

I made these cookies to give them a little test. At the end of May at the major craft event I’m at I usually always take baked goods and do a little bake sale. Well I want to have some new items this year, as well as have a bit of a selection. These cookies did make the cut.

On my little list of ideas I do have chocolate cupcakes, white cupcakes, peanut butter & jelly cookies and lemon fingers (or lemon bars)…

What do you guys like to see when you go to a bake sale? What one item do you always look for?

In the end I will throw together some chocolate chip cookies. I also hope to do some cookies with a cotton candy icing & another cookie with a lemonade icing.

Earring

Friday I finally got the earring I ordered. Yes – earring – as in I only ordered one. I love it. I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet though.

I also got another package in the mail. The last thing I ordered for him. I honestly wanted to cry a little over the package because I was sure he was going to love the gift when I put it all together. Now it’s just sitting on my desk and I have no idea what I’m going to do with it.

My emotions have been a bit touch and go over the past few days. I know it happened for the best, but my heart still hurts.

I went out with some friends Friday night, and I know I just brought the whole room down. It was just so hard with him not being there and me knowing there was no chance of him making a surprise pop in. I know it will get easier as time goes on…I just…I don’t know. He seemingly always found a way to make me smile, even if he didn’t know it.

Friday morning/afternoon I really stayed in bed and read, I read until I got a text saying my friend was coming to pick me up.

So with all of that reading I was able to finish 5, 742 Days: A Mother’s Journey Through Loss by Anne-Marie Cockburn [LINK] – it’s a great book. After I finished it, I did laugh a little to myself. Just for the main reason of me reading a book about loss and now being single. In some ways I could connect with Anne, the little reminders and such – those are still around.

The next book I’ll be reading is Playboy Bunny or Stewardess?? The Uncensored Memoirs of a Pan Am Flight Attendant by Dona Jay Epting [LINK]. I haven’t had a chance to really start reading it though. I think it will be a good book, well I hope it will be.

I’m still reading through all the free books I’ve “bought”. Which is kind of sad, or it says something about me. ^_^ Yeah, I like a good deal.

Having loads of books is a good thing though since I’m still dealing with major sleeping problems. Now I can’t go to bed until around 3:30am or 4am. >_<

I keep thinking about when all the craft events start again…how am I going to do them? 90% of them I have to be up and out of the house by at least 6:30am. I can’t do them with little or no sleep.

I’m hoping I can figure out what the problem is soon. I haven’t been taking a nap or anything either. I can be ready to pass out at 8pm, but as soon as I get in bed I’m wide away. Ugh.

A warm bath before bed doesn’t help either, I’ve tried that.

We Can Only Be Ourselves

Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair

Friday night was spent with Jason and his friends at Canfield Fair [LINK]. It was the first time Jason and I have been to the fair and compared to ours, it’s HUGE!

Within maybe twenty minutes of being at the fair, before we found his friends, he had me going down a slide. I know that sounds a little weird so let me explain a little better…

At the fair they have these huge slides called Fun Slides (I think). You walk up stairs and sit on a burlap sack. There’s five slides hooked together. When each slide has a person on it, the man at the top says go. You race each other down the slide.

The only problem is I’m scared of heights.

Even with my fear, he was able to get me up on the slide. And well…it was just so cute that he wanted to do it. In the end, I loved it.

Over all, it was a great night. I may not be the most outgoing person around new people, but I do enjoy meeting new people. It just takes a while for me to warm up to them.

We were at the fair until they were closing stands down for the night.

The rest of the night can be summed up by saying we cuddled to Frank Sinatra songs. And went to bed kind of early for us.

Saturday we ever woke up early – for us.

We stopped at a cafe to get drinks and well me not thinking I didn’t watch (or ask) to see if there was milk in mine. By the time we got back to his place I realized there was. I was feeling so horrible I just wanted to die. After some water and cuddling I felt better though.

Saturday night we were going to meet up with some of his friends for a kind of game night. So we went shopping for some snacks to take. We ended up getting stuff to make mini pizzas. The mini pizzas were his idea, but it was my idea to make the dough from scratch. The toppings were (vegan) cheese, mushrooms, green pepper, banana pepper, onion and tomato.

It was the first time I had ever cooked with anyone, and I enjoyed it so much. Plus it was kind of romantic – in my eyes anyways.

The little game night was a lot of fun too. ^_^

The end of night was spent cuddling in bed and watching Children Of The Corn.

Sunday was a lazy day. Ordered Chinese and watched a badly edited film. Oh and we took a nap too.

I have to say, I’m loving the time we spend together more and more. We don’t have to go anywhere for me to be happy, staying at his place and watching bad movies is enough for me.

This week I had a couple projects I wanted to start which would just stress me out, but due to an issue that started Sunday I’m going to put off those stressful projects until next week. The issue, I’m pretty sure, is stress related. So I’m just going to reduce stress for the week in hopes that will help me out a little.

So this week I only have a few small projects to work on.

First one is finishing the skirt I made for my niece. Last night I did the hem and waistband. Now I just have to iron the waistband and sew it to the skirt. It’s the first project on my list for this week since it’s super simple and easy.

Next project is a half circle cloak for myself. I found this great black and white checkered fabric I’m going to use for the outer fabric, for the lining I’m using a “silky” gray fabric. Last night I sat debating on if I should add a collar to it so it’s not that simple, Well I cut a collar out so I’m going to add it. I was wanting to go as simple as I can with this cloak since it’s the first one I’ve ever made, but honestly while I was thinking about it I realized I don’t like cloaks without a collar. They just look like an oddly made superhero cape. ^_^ I do plan to make myself a half circle cloak with a capelet attached to it. That just sounds…totally like something I would wear all the time. Though I am considering making the capelet lace, but it all depend on what kind of fabric the main fabric is.

I do have Randi’s apron sewn, but I have yet to find buttons for the back part of it. We have a couple button jars I just have to go through them to find the perfect buttons. I can always  grab a couple and let her pick. I’m also going to add a couple lace flowers (or bows) to the waistband.

I have another project for Randi I started on last night, it’s pretty simple and shouldn’t take that long.

Sunday night I talked to a friend who wants me to make an apron for his girlfriend – so cute! I’m excited for the chance to do it. So I got the numbers I needed for it as well as some ideas for fabrics. I can’t buy the fabric though until he pays me for the apron – I paid my cell phone, UGH! – but I think I’m going to look through some fabrics if I get a chance before I get the money so I can take pictures and have him be more part of the project. He said she’s super girlie, but likes that he’s punk, so I was thinking of going with a retro style fabric – when I mentioned that he loved the idea. I just hope the fabric I’m thinking of they still have. I seen this fabric one time and fell in love with it. One good thing is I may not have to buy lace, it just depends on what color lace I’ll need.

Once I get the money I’ll also be able to open a bank account. A friend let me know that the bank I was going to go with doesn’t have fees or anything. Which is great because that’s what I read on their website but someone told me that wasn’t right – great to know from someone who actually uses the bank that it’s true. I just hope they’re quick with sending ATM cards and such so I can then get the paypal set up and work toward doing the store and everything online.

I really want to do a whole different website, but until I start making some money with it I’ll have to just do a subdomain on here. I am going to use the flat rate packages when it comes to shipping so if I have out of the country orders, the shipping rate won’t be sky high. I think the only hard part is going to be dealing with the custom orders.

Right now I’m thinking for the first few months or so I’m only going to do custom orders on things such as bow earrings, hair bows, bracelets and paintings – oh and half cloaks. Then I’ll slowly work into skirts and such.

I am excited to get this off the ground. ^_^ Oh and I did pick a name, well it’s the name I’m using on facebook for it right now: Cherry Delights. More then likely that will change, but I kind of like it because it doesn’t hold me to doing one thing – such at jewelry, or only sewn projects. I can pretty much use that name and do anything I want.

I’m also not going to be using any materials that are made from animals. ^_^ No wool, no silks, no leather – I’m super stoked to offer animal friendly items to people. I’m sure I’ll get a few people who has never come across animal friendly items will buy some things, opening their eyes to the world of it all. ^_^

I don’t have a logo yet though. Which I really want to get a logo done so I can add it to the tags I’ll attach to the items before mailing. I kind of want to base the logo on my tattoo. Maybe I’ll play around with the logo idea this week, doing things like that doesn’t bring me stress at all…it kind of mellows me out.

In other news…

Two words: Hemp Hearts!

Okay, sounds kind of weird if you have no clue what I’m talking about. Well I’m a member of a website where you can get free samples of new items and give feedback so they can change things if they need to. Anyways I got a sample of Hemp Hearts (Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils) last week. Hemp Hearts are raw shelled hemp seeds. I admit, I thought it sounded kind of weird when I first read about them. I do like trying new things though. I read there is 10g of protein in 3tbsp, which gave me all the more reason to try them out.

You can use them on salads…well ANYTHING! I finally opened and tried them last night while I was laying in bed. It was just like eating nuts or something along those lines. They are smaller then a sunflower seed so it wasn’t very easy. In the end though I can’t wait to buy more.

They have such a great nutty flavor to them, which got my baker mind thinking about how great they would be added to cookies. Putting some in a chocolate chip cookie would be so good. I want to get another package before I make stir fry again, they would be such a great little addition.

Done

Hell.

That one word describes most of the weekend…well the biggest part of the weekend. All I can say is I’m finished going to events with my aunt. I’m sick of being treated like a slave and getting no respect.

If you’re not well enough to do these things on your own, you don’t need to be going to them.

I know I’m going to be taking a loss because that means less money coming in, but I’m going to stat taking cosplay/clothing commission work. If anyone is interested (US only right now) let me know. I’m open to doing pretty much anything – aprons (half & full), skirts, purses, pillow cases, hairbows…

It’s really going to suck for her because there’s an event at the end of the month. I’m not going. As I said before, I’m finished. I just can’t take her bitching and complaining any more. Not only did I have to hear about how sick she is (I had a cold too) but she would just sit and bitch about people. Sorry but I don’t want that negativity in my life.

I told my mom since I won’t be answering her calls that if she calls my mom she doesn’t know who I am. HAHA!

This week though I’m going to sit down and work on Randi’s apron. Due to the crazy week last week I didn’t get a chance to start on it. I’m not looking forward to measuring it out and marking it though because it’s black fabric. The chalk hates me. I always get it everywhere – it washes off, but it just sucks when you get it all over the place.

Friday night I was able to go with friends up to Canton. And Jason kind of surprised me when we were eating. I told him where we were and I didn’t really figure he’d show up. Next thing I knew he was standing beside me, it was the best kind of surprise. ^_^

Then we went to hookah, normal thing as usual.

Through it all and even though it was a short night, it was just nice to spend some time with him even if it wasn’t a lot of time. ^_^

He came down Saturday for a little bit too.

And since I’m not able to go to con, I’m really hoping to be able to see him next weekend too. But who knows what will happen when it comes down to it. Fingers crossed I just won’t be sitting at home next weekend though.

No More Freedom…For This Week.

My last total day of freedom before the weekend was yesterday. Which bums me out to no end.

This morning, well this afternoon I have to bake brownies for this weekend. Not a big deal. I also have to cook my lentils for sloppy joes we’re having Saturday.

See instead of spending a bunch of money on food at this festival, we just take our own. Though I don’t eat what everyone else eats.

Later this afternoon, around 4, is when we go to the fairgrounds to set up. Depending on how well everyone works it could take two hours or it could take five. I’m really hoping everyone pitches in and it all gets finished quickly. The biggest thing is putting the tent up, it’s huge and normally takes four people to set it up. There’s only two people to set it up…but last year my older brother and I set it up on our own so it shouldn’t be that big of a problem.

I really have nothing new for this festival, due to the events of Monday night.

Monday night while my mom and her husband was sitting on the back steps, he just stopped breathing. So when he stopped breathing he fell off the steps. My mom had to do CPR to get him breathing again before she could even call 911. The bad thing on top of it all is she’s sick and hardly has a voice and I was in my room listening to music – so I wouldn’t have been able to hear her even if she screamed. Well two sets of EMTs showed up and come to find out they were going to life flight him but due to the weather they couldn’t. They didn’t even stop at our “large” local hospital, they took him to a larger hospital in Canton – which is about 45 (on the high side) minutes away. They sent him home the next day, all of the tests came back showing nothing wrong. I guess it’s just one of those things we’ll never really know.

The one thing that kind of pissed me off though is the fact that the EMTs left syringes in our yard! They were by the pool so it’s all fenced in, but the dog picked them up and started bringing them in the house. No kids play in the pool area, but they didn’t know that.

So due to all of that and a major lack of sleep I’ve got nothing finished.

I guess the good thing is I’ll be taking my sewing machine with me this weekend so hopefully first thing Friday I’ll be able to get at least one apron finished.

I was also considering taking everything to finish the tops for my Lolita outfits. Well here’s the thing…due to a few events I’m considering not going to con. I don’t really want to discuss it, but…yeah…

It’s happy time

Festival Food

Last night, to my great surprise, I was kidnapped. Okay not the usual “kidnapped” it was planned and I was very excited when I got the texts about it all. ^_^

Jason picked me up late last night, and I was beyond happy to see his face. We sadly don’t live that close to each other, but at least he’s not in another state or two hours away. When you look at the drive between the two cities, it’s honestly not that bad. And usually every other weekend I’m in his city with friends at the hookah place, so that’s a bright spot in it all. And well…I enjoy every moment I spend with him. He’s such a sweet guy – along with funny and a little nerdy. I’m so glad  we started talking when we did. He’s a total keeper.

But anyways as I said he picked me up late last night. I took the night Planet Terror (2007) [LINK] and we watched it. I admit, it had been a while since I seen the movie so there were a couple pieces of the film I didn’t remember. And it still makes me a little sad that out of the two Grindhouse films I liked Death Proof (2007) [LINK]. I mean in theory Planet Terror is a “zombie” film…and well I fucking love zombie films. To me Planet Terror was just missing a little something.

We ended up staying up until like 6am, which wasn’t the best idea but I know I didn’t care. I enjoy spending time with him even at that early in the morning. ^_^

This morning we spent it at the Italian American Festival in Dover. I haven’t been there in nearly 5 years and it was smaller then it used to be. We sat and watched a couple of the girls from a dance school in town perform. We also grabbed something to eat (picture above). And I think it’s some kind of law that if you go to a festival and there’s a lemonade stand you can’t leave until you have lemonade.

It’s kind of like at the county fair, I can’t leave without having fries and lemonade. That’s really one of the reasons I even go to the fair any more. Though I’m sure I’ll be going with my niece at some point, and I’m going to talk Jason into going at some point because it’s always a good time when you’re there with someone you enjoy.

I guess a lot of people have noticed how much happier I’ve been over the past couple weeks. I think I have a great reason to be happy. ^_^

Also, check out TaV for reviews of the films I’ve been watching lately.

Unfinished

It seems there’s a great little cold going around, yep I have it.

At first I thought it was just allergies or something along those lines because I’ve been sitting outside every morning from about 10am to 3pm. My nose started getting stuffy after someone cut their grass, so I figured that’s why.

Well by the next morning I woke up without a voice and by the time I had a voice it was one of those that you could hardly hear. People don’t hear me that well normally so ugh!

I’m just hoping this cold is over before Thursday because if it’s not…Thursday is going to be such a bad day.

Thursday is set up for the steam show – yippie. Which means hours of standing at the fairgrounds trying to figure out where to put the tables under the tent. Once that’s figured out the next thing is to fill the tables with everything. Not looking forward to it at all.

Then Friday to Sunday 8am to 5pm…I’ll  be there. Though I am hoping to be able to get a little visit with my friend in. ^_^

I am going to take my sewing machine and everything else I need to I can work a bit on the apron Randi ordered for me, the collar she wants, and work on the tops to my cosplays.

Yes, con is closing in fast and I still don’t have tops done. I’m still kind of stuck as to what kind of tops I should do. The maid outfit I was just going to do a basic side zipper sleeveless top with a bit of a lace ruffle going down the front of the top. And I’m completely stuck when it comes to the basic sweet Lolita outfit top. =_= I think what it’s going to come down to for both tops is just a lot of playing around once I get the basic top finished.

I am considering adding some fake pearls to the skirt, as soon as I figure out where I put them. Haha. I’m just trying to add a lot to the skirt so it really looks like a sweet Lolita skirt because I guess right now it doesn’t really look like that. I mean I know it’s not going to be perfect since it’s my first try at any of the Lolita clothing, but I think so far as good.

Movies and sewing

So last weekend there was the large sale at the fairgrounds. I go every year for the pure fact of not being sure what you’ll find. This year I didn’t really find much at all. I did get a cute little vintage suitcase – with going to cons I need something extra plus my skirts won’t fit in my train case.

I also picked up some clothes. I totally have nothing wrong with wearing second hand clothing. Most of the time the clothing is being put in the “get rid of” pile because it’s not “cool” any more. Well I never care about being cool.

I picked up a Hello Kitty skirt, a great little brown jacket, some random t-shirts…and a dress. Turns out the dress is from H&M. The dress is a babydoll style dress, black and white, with 3/4 length sleeves – it will be right around knee length on me. I honestly can’t wait to wear it because it’s going to be perfect to layer for the winter. ^_^

Bluebird

Finally, here’s a better picture of that painting I took a couple weeks to work on. I’m still looking for the perfect frame though. I think I’m being too picky. All the frames I have on my walls are black and I’d just really like to have it in a black frame. I guess since the new fad is bright colors I may have a hard time finding one.

Brave (2012)

Last night I finished watching Brave (2012) [LINK]. I started it Tuesday but wasn’t able to finish it. It was a pretty good movie, I’m just not a huge fan of  the “Princess” movies. But the good thing is, my niece finally sees a “princess” like her. She has a red tint to her hair and it’s super curly. Sometimes in pictures it doesn’t show up very well. A friend said I should make her Halloween costume the girl from the movie.

The Last Exorcism: Part II

I also finally watched The Last Exorcism: Part II (2013) [LINK]. I enjoyed it! If you only know one thing about me, it’s usually the fact that I like exorcism movies a great deal. When the first film came out, well leading up to the release, I was getting so excited over an exorcism film that looked good coming out. Don’t get me wrong there was been other exorcism films in the 2000s but for the most part, they didn’t hit the mark. The Last Exorcism is one of my favorites in general, and part II is as well. I did love the ending.

Wilfred

The other thing I’ve been working my way through is the TV show Wilfred [LINK]. The reason I started watching it is due to the fact Saturday night Jason and I watched a couple episodes – they were so funny. So when I got home I got season one and season two. Right now I’m half way finished with season two. And since season three is airing now it just gives me time to start on Workaholics [LINK]. I’ve seen a couple episodes, but they were mid-season- not sure what season. So I’m going to give it a try from the start. I have season one and two.

This is going to seem very odd, but what are some pig movies? I mean piggy pig, not cop pig. My niece is in love with pigs and I’ve been trying to find some movies with pigs. I already know Babe (1995) [LINK]. Also keep in mind she’s two, so anything longer then about an hour and 20 minutes and she’s out of the room.

I found myself a film that seems very interesting. It’s not a horror film like I normally watch though, surprise! It’s called About Cherry (2012) [LINK]. I’m hoping to be able to watch it sometime this week/weekend.

Yes, I’ve been spending a lot of time watching movies. But at the same time I’ve been getting things done!

I finished my petticoat, well it’s finished being sewn. I still have to play with the layers and cut them so they’re just right. Both skirts are totally finished. I have yet to even start on the tops. But my thought is to take my sewing machine with me to the craft event next weekend so I’ll have something to do so I’m not sitting there bored out of my mind for three days.

As far as things for the craft event, I’m about 50% finished on the aprons I’m making. Right now I’m just working on the gathered half apron styles. I am making a special crayon apron for my niece – I found farm animal fabric…there are pigs on it. All the other aprons are cut out and ironed. I’m to the point of sewing the pockets for the crayons. Which after I do that it should only take about 10 minutes more to finish them. The ones I’m going to make for boys are not going to be gathered, but they will end up to have less pockets on them.

A friend also ordered a full apron. This will be a first for me,  but it doesn’t seem very hard to do. She’s going to pay me for it Friday so I can pick the fabric up over the weekend. Tomorrow I’m going to take my lace to the coffee shop to at least let her pick the lace out. She wants a black apron with white lace. Which should be easy to do – but we’ll see.
